Fucking hell, these two are going to be the death of me.

“Fuck,” I say, thrusting up into Laney. She lets out a moan of pleasure.

When she sits back up, her eyes go to the back window and then bounce back to me. When they float towards the window again, I look in the rearview to see what she’s looking at.

“I think we have a tail,” she says. Arrow turns around to look as Laney slides off my lap. A large vehicle follows about sixty feet behind us without their lights on.

“Fuck-ing great, I think we have an assassin following us.”

The black car is clearly bulletproof. I switch lanes to get a look at the way the glass shines off the lights.Definitely bulletproof. Fuck.

“Aren’t you an assassin?” Laney asks. “Just out-assassin him.”

I roll my eyes and meet her gaze now that she’s settled safely back in her seat. Steel has a lot of protests about that, but he will get his later.

“You hate blood and murder. I try not to do those things around you.”

Her brows pinch as she turns to face me.

“Havoc, you’re joking right? Please go kill that mother clucker so we can go home and finish what I just started.”

Okay, so murder is fine so long as she’s horny. Good to know.

“Just don’t get blood anywhere. I like this car and I don’t want you getting the interior stained.”

I turn onto a side road. “You’re awfully picky about your cars being pristine.”

“Well of course I am. This is a two hundred thousand dollar custom build. Plus, the pink chrome rims are my favorite.”

Correction, murder is okay as long as no blood stains the car, and my girl is ready to get fucked into oblivion. Got it.

Taking a swift turn when the car closes in, I roll down my window at the same time as firing off two shots. One hits their front tire and the other goes straight into the engine, causing steam to erupt right in their line of sight.

I won’t waste bullets on the glass, since I already know it’s pointless. But I need the fucker to get out of the car so I can get some damn answers.

Laney grabs a handgun from the dash, and Arrow grabs the long range rifle from the trunk. I lower the back window a bit so he can watch our six while we approach the car.

Having a bulletproof exterior is great and all, but a grenade tossed under the engine will obliterate any vehicle. Removingthe pin from my handy dandy grenade, I step out for only a second to toss it under the other car’s hood. Laney covers her ears while I do the same.

The explosion rings out, but the thick glass helps it not distort our hearing in the same way it would as if we were outside. When I look back, the car is in flames, so I give Laney the go ahead.

She hops out as soon as I do, the sleek SUV that was following us now destroyed beyond repair. The idiot that was driving emerges as the car burns around him.

Oh look, he’s burning too.

“Is it hot out here or is it just him?” I ask Laney. She rolls her eyes as if that wasn’t the funniest thing she’s heard all night, but I see the smirk pulling at the corner of her lips.

The idiot runs in circles and eventually drops to the dirt, rolling over and over to put out the fire that’s consuming his shirt. What a shame, burning is such a unique way to die.

I aim the gun at him before looking back to Laney. “You sure you’re okay with this, Unicorn?”

“Havoc, take him out. Just tell me to look away when you plan to shoot.”

I grin menacingly as I look down at our victim. He appears to be a younger man, maybe in his twenties, who most definitely has a lot to learn. Or rather, had. He’s obviously going to die here today.

“Why were you after us?” I ask, pointing my gun directly between his eyes.

“Fuck you,” he replies, coughing and spluttering all over the place. As Laney comes into view, his whole demeanor changes.
