“No. I’m good.” He smiles. “I’m content just being around you.”

“Not bored?”

“No. I enjoy watching movies with you. You’re good company.”

“Okay.”

I watch him for the next little bit. I don’t understand how he could just be content watching movies with me. How is he not bored?

“Abbey.” He says after a few minutes.

“Yeah?”

“Watch the movie.” He points at the screen.

“Do you have any siblings?” I ask instead. He turns and looks at me.

“An older half-brother I only ever met once.” He shrugs. “You?”

“My father wasn’t in the picture, but I heard he has other children.”

“How old were you when you got signed?”

“I was sixteen. Jailbait, but that didn’t stop the guys from coming after me. I dated older guys, and my mom signed off on it, so it was okay.”

“I’m surprised we hadn’t met before.”

“I’m sure we’ve been around each other at events and whatnot.”

“Oh yes, I know. I remember seeing you around places. You are hard to miss.” I blush a little. “I remember seeing you with Tim fromAir Machine. You two were fighting about something at some award show.”

“Tim wasn’t that bad.” I say. “Jealous over my career more than other guys. He cheated on me, but I don’t think he even really liked me. He was just in it for the fame.”

“How could someone not like you?”

“I think they want to, but then they get to know me or something, and they realize they want nothing to do with me. I told you. I’m a mess.”

“You do have a jealous streak.” He says, laughing.

“I do not. Half the time, I didn’t even realize they were cheating on me. I just assumed they were friendly with girls.” I shrug.

“You get jealous anytime another girl even looks at me.”

He had me there. “I do not.” I say, though.

“Okay.” He laughs. “It’s okay. I get jealous anytime another guy looks at you, too. I don’t like the idea of any of them even thinking they have a chance with you.”

“They don’t.” I whisper.

“No. They don’t.”

He puts on another movie. I lean my head back against his chest, and he wraps his arm back around my waist.

Something has to give. We have too much chemistry. Maybe his point from yesterday was good. Maybe we should just fuck and get it out of the way. Maybe after we had sex, we’d get all the tension out and could be just friends.

Or maybe we’d see we really did like each other and could become more.

“Wes?” I ask after a bit, ready to ask him to fuck me.
