That was it.

All I needed. Right as I shifted, Dusk’s hand closed around mine, making me jump.

Hesaid nothing, entwining our fingers and drawing me back. I had to fight to keep my expression natural as irrational rage pricked me. I could picture the amusement on his face right now.

He drew me closer, and I froze as I felt his touch on my leg.

“Sorted, then?” Eric asked. “I think we have a few of the same classes. And you never know, Roxy and…” He blinked, eyes narrowed as he looked at me with those bright green eyes. “Your… omega might get along?—”

“Shatter,” I whispered before I could stop myself.

They stared at me as if surprised I could talk.

“My name,” I said, clearing my throat so my voice was louder.

Something low rumbled in Dusk’s chest. Humour, perhaps? His touch crept higher, beneath my skirt. I grabbed his wrist beneath the table for all the good it would do.

They were staring at me with frowns, but I could barely focus on it as Dusk’s fingers slipped beneath the lace of my panties. I gripped him harder but dared not move.

“Myomega’s name is Shatter,” Dusk said coolly as he pressed his fingers up against my slick entrance. Heat blossomed on my cheeks and in my core. His touch was insistent, and one of his legs pinned my knee against the table leg and his hand bit down on my other thigh, dragging my legs apart. Right now, it would be easy for him to plunge his finger right in.

My heart was in my throat. Hewouldn’t.

Not now, with them here.

“Shatter?” Eric asked. He sounded confused, and yet the word rolled from his tongue almost reverently. With the sound of my name on my mate’stongue, Dusk slid a finger inside me. I fought with my expression, teeth biting down on my lip hard enough to draw blood.

My grip was white knuckled on the edge of the table and his wrist. “A beautiful name for a beautiful omega,” Dusk murmured.

I was trembling with fury as he began to work his finger in and out of me, but I couldn’t shift away any further, not with his hand clamped on my leg so tightly. Not without a scene.

ShouldI make a scene?

They would help me, right? If I did?

They’d have to.

Yet, I was frozen.

Eric was glancing between us, clearly oblivious. “The omega with a secret scent.”

I could almost hear the smile on Dusk’s face as he replied. “That’s my girl.”

I was shaking as he worked in and out of my core, curling his finger to a perfect spot that made the world spin. I warred to keep a straight face, trying to untangle exactly what he was doing to me.

“That’s nice,” Dusk noted, and Gareth glanced down at the pen I’d been trying to snatch with a smile.

“Bought it from the artist, the resin is custom but I have a few—if you’d like it?” He set it before Dusk, who nodded in thanks and then switched to two fingers. I bit back a whine. It was so much worse with their scents here, sending my hormones out of control.

And despite my goosebumps and nerves, it felt good.

“One question before you leave,” Dusk said as Eric got to his feet.

I ducked my head, letting my hair fall in my face as I began losing the war against the rising heat in my body.

This wasn’t like anything I’d ever felt before.

“Yes?” Eric asked.
