He chuckles again before calming some. “It’s good to hear your voice though. Seriously. We thought you died or something,” I hear Bianca smack him. “Ow! What? We did!”

“I’m not dead,” I groan.

“I know but the last that we had heard of you…”

“Alright, enough of that,” Bianca says, grabbing the phone from him. “Sorry girl.”

“It’s fine. It was a shit situation. I’m really sorry about that.”

“Nope. No apologies. We love you girl. But I do kind of have some plans for the rest of my morning so…”

“Ew. Yes, please hang up before you start fucking.”

Rhonda eyes me in surprise as I put the phone down then shakes her head. “Oh, to be young again.”

I grin at her. “What do you mean ‘again’? I’m sure you aren’t lonely at night,” I wink at her and her face flushes as she eyes the guys behind me. I roll my eyes. “Ignore the douchebags in the room. If they don’t wanna hear, they can leave.”

I feel Ax behind me before he even talks. The hairs on my neck stand up and I flinch as he leans in close to me, pinning me against the island.

“Hey now, it is my kitchen after all.”

I glare at him and turn suddenly when he backs away.

“Wait, so does that mean Edgar—”

“He works for me,” Ax says, answering my question.

“Why?”

He eyes me like he’s trying to decide whether to answer or be a dickhead.

“Because otherwise he’d have no job.”

Straight to the point. Laced with a little dickhead. I roll my eyes.

“Gonna tell me why I’m here, then? Am I supposed to be your maid?“

“I’ll gladly buy you a maid outfit,” Asher grins and Eli chuckles.

“No objections here.”

Rhonda looks like she wants to climb into the pot on the stove to hide and I shake my head at them.

“You guys are pigs.”

“Fix the doors, princess,” Ax calls after me as I head upstairs.

I smirk at him and shrug. “Don’t think I will. I mean, it isyourhouse after all. Fix it yourself.”

I hear him mutter something about being a pain in the ass and I laugh as I head back to my room. I find my phone and call my dad, surprised and caught off guard when he answers.

“What?”

Well good morning to you too, lovely father. Might as well cut to the point.

“Can I have a credit card to fix my bathroom?”

“What’s wrong with your bathroom?”
