“More like an amusement park,” I tell him with a grin.

He looks at me surprised but nods his head. “Good to know. I definitely would have guessed wrong about you.”

“That’s because you hardly know me. And for whatever reason you all think I’m some incompetent, fragile, princess.”

Eli winces like I smacked him. “Alright, fair. I can’t speak for them but I may have pegged you wrong. So, what’s your favorite amusement park? Don’t be cliche and say Disney. I’m talking local.”

“Why, are you gonna take me on a real date, Elijah Daniel?” I tease and he chuckles as he flashes me a far too gorgeous grin.

“Don’t threaten me with a good time. Answer the question.”

I roll my eyes as the gates to Ax’s mansion come into view.

“Fine. But then you answer one of mine.”

“Deal.”

“I don’t have a favorite because I’ve never been to one.”

Elijah stops the car around the back of the house near a garage. Ax and Asher are playing basketball off to the side as we pull up but Eli is too busy staring at me to pay them any notice.

“Wait, wait, wait,” he says, trying to continue the conversation as I climb out of the car.

“Nope, you’ve got your answer. I’ll think of a question for later and get back to you.”

“You didn’t answer, you tricked me.”

“I knew you’d be a girl that plays dirty,” I hear Asher say with a grin and I roll my eyes at him.

He and Ax join us. Asher gives me a breathtaking smile and Ax looks like I personally offend him just by standing in his driveway.

“I didn’t trick you. You just don’t like the answer.”

“Because it’s not an answer. Why would you want to have a date at an amusement park if you’ve never been to one?”

“You’re taking her on a date?” Ax hisses.

“No fair!” Asher whines. “I get to take her out next.”

“Uh, her is right here. And her isn’t going on a date with anyone.”

Asher frowns as Ax just glares at Eli.

“Wait, you've never been to an amusement park?” Asher suddenly asks as I start to walk back to the house.

I groan. “No. Not exactly taking field trips from the looney bin.”

Eli chuckles and the other two glare at him. “Gonna have to get used to the jokes I guess,” he says with a shrug. “She says she has a bunch.”

“What about before you went there though? Twisted Tiles is only an hour drive,” Asher says confused.

I shrug. “Never went. My dad had better things to do than bring a kid to get cotton candy or whatever.”

“What about your mom?” Ax asks and Asher punches his arm.

“I’m keeping tally of all these questions and I expect a whole lot of answers to my questions later,” I warn them as I glare back at Ax. “And to answer your question, no. My mom never got to bring me. My dad controlled the money and gambling it away at the casino with golf buddies was a priority. Can I go inside now or are we going to continue 21 questions?”

“Actually,” Asher says with a bright grin. “Ax has something to say.”
