“Fuck you, Asher,” Eli yells from the side of the pool.
Asher ignores him as he sits down and bats his puppy dog eyes at me. “It’s me, right?”
“Depends who would be willing to kill the clowns for me,” I chuckle.
“You can’t kill the clowns,” Eli starts and Asher shakes his head.
“I’ll do it! I’ll kill them! That means I get to bring you,” he cheers and quickly jumps in the water; splashing me.
I yelp at the cold water and Ax smirks. “Are you melting, princess?”
I ignore him as I just lay back and kick my feet in the water. I almost doze off and jerk myself awake when I hear Bianca's voice.
“Awesome house, Kate,” Scott says, coming over to join me and Bianca off to the side.
“Actually, it’s his,” I mutter pointing to Ax.
“Wait, what?” Bianca asks and I roll my eyes.
“Fuck if I know.”
Scott eyes the guys warily and I’m sure his eyes are taking in the large viper tattoo on each of their necks.
“You frequently invite people over to other people's houses I’m realizing,” Ax snaps.
I chuckle. “Yeah, I’m planning a huge rave later, too. You mind getting locked in the basement for a bit?”
Bianca and Scott cough to cover their laughs but Eli and Asher just snicker as they splash Ax. If not for the water being splashed at him, I’d dare say I saw a smile on his lips.
It doesn’t take long for the four boys to throw a football back and forth and Bianca sits with me on the edge of the water.
“Alright,” I tell her. “Give me all the gossip. I know you are dying to tell me.”
“Finally!” She exclaims and claps her hands wildly as Scott chuckles and he shakes his head. “So, Cherry is knocked up!”
“Cherry Whittaker? With the braces?”
“Her braces are gone and her tummy is growing,” Bianca laughs as she reaches for a beer and hands me one. “With, you’ll never guess, Rodger Matthews.”
“Ew,” I chuckle as I swig my drink.
“I know. And Kerry dropped out right before graduation to follow some indie band around the country.”
“I bet her mom loved that,” I grin.
“Tell her about Miles,” Scott calls.
“Miles, slimey little snake, Miles?” I ask and Bianca grins.
“The one and only. He got locked up for drugging some girl’s drink at a bar, literally the day he turned 21.”
“Such a pig. He had it coming.”
“If it wasn’t the cops, he was gonna get his ass kicked one way or another,” Bianca says, shaking her head. “But you’ll always be the first to give him a black eye.”
I shake my head at the memory. “He was a slime ball, he deserved it.”
“Oh!“ Bianca says, overly excited and moving on to the next story already. “Collin and Kyle are getting hitched.”
