Since it’s hardly the time, I don’t argue that I’m not anyone’s leader, and instead I nod at her. “What needs to be done?”

As one, the Cruz Cunts begin to talk, each making not-so-helpful suggestions about what needs to be done, and how they think we should go about it.

Despite the chatter, the women look scared, crestfallen, and like they’re on the brink of losing it. I straighten my spine and roll my shoulders back.

“We need clothes, food, medical kits, and—”

“All taken care of,” says someone from behind me.

I immediately turn around, feeling uneasy as fuck that someone managed to sneak up on me.

“Cain,” Gray says, nodding to the guy strutting closer.

“Gray, as ugly as ever,” Cain retorts with a mock bow. “As I was saying, we have about thirty pizzas heading this way. Some of my Diamonds are out buying clothes and bedding as we speak. Anything else you need?”

I’m surprised when he turns his head in my direction, completely discarding Gray.

“Y-you’re asking me?” I ask, dumbfounded.

Cain narrows his eyes. “Well, you are Zoe, aren’t you? The Cruz Cunts said they were waiting for your command. But then again, they also said you were smart.” He shrugs as if to say he’s doubting what he’s heard about me.

“Take it easy, Cain,” Gray growls. “She isn’t used to you.”

“No time like the present,” Cain sing-songs.

Who the fuck is this man? Like… he’s… yeah, I have no words. No. Fucking. Words.

“I’m really sorry about your loss,” Cain says, this time sounding serious.

Gray moves closer to him and grasps his shoulder. “Thanks man.”

Cain nods. “I have to go see if the missus is okay. Afterward, I’ll take you to Dante’s old office. You can use that for your church or whatever you call it.”

“Your what?” Gray asks, his brows shooting up in surprise. “Wait, you’re married?”

Waving his hand in the air to show off the wedding band, Cain nods. “Yup.”

“Oh my God!” Rhiannon exclaims. “Is it one of the Diamonds?”

Cain sputters in outrage. “Fuck no. Anyway, time to let her out of her cage.”

My mouth opens and closes, and I’m sure I resemble a fish out of water as I try to digest hurricane Cain and his… no. He isn’t important, and neither are his words.

Ignoring him, I turn back to the Cruz Cunts. “Is anyone injured?” I ask.

Then I make them move into a line, taking my time, carefully examining every single tear-filled face to make sure they’re okay. Most of them have scrapes and gashes, and there are even a few bullet wounds.

“I’ll remove the bullets,” Beth offers. “I’ve done it before and know how.”

Nodding, I tell her to take care of it while I send the rest to shower and bandage up. As she walks away with the Cunts who need her help, Rose moves closer. “The other Kings are already in Dante’s office. Only Rocco and Slayer are missing now.”

I’m so focused on the Cunts that I don’t notice Gray at my back until he places his hands on my hips and says, “I’ll go join them.”

Spinning around in his hold, I nod up at him. “W-where’s that?”

I don’t like the thought of being far from him, not even to help the Cunts who need it. I know it’s selfish of me, but I still want to follow Gray instead of staying here.

Gray points to a door in the corner. “It’s just through there. You can see us through the glass.”
