I’d almost told him to go fuck himself. Then as I looked over his large shoulder, outside the library’s exit, there the other two were, waiting for us.

God damnit.

I huffed and threw my bag over my shoulder, catching the frown crossing Phantom’s face at the faint, painful hiss I did a piss poor job at hiding.

“Are you okay?” he asked.

Ignoring him, I marched toward the exit and slammed the door behind me before Phantom had time to catch it. I kept my eyes forward, ignoring the heat from Phantom’s glare and the brief chuckles Isaac and Rhett had shared amongst one another. If I hadn’t been outnumbered and wasn’t suffering through what had to be another case of cracked ribs, I’d have kicked all three of them in their glorious dicks and made a run for it.

I made it as far as the front entrance, straying towards the path leading to the guys’ dorms when Rhett called out for me to head to the woods.

Stopping, I veered back and glared at him.

“We’re going to the shed.”

Hating how I knew exactly what he was talking about, I rolled my eyes and snorted. I held the lead position of the whole pack until we made it to the clearing.

“What thefuckdo you want?” I shouted, spinning on my heel to gawk murderously at them. This was as far as I was willing to go.

“Just to talk,” Rhett spoke first. “We want to call a truce.”

“A truce?” I angrily bared my teeth. “Are you fucking serious?”

“We know you’re angry,” Rhett continued, taking a brave step toward me. I stepped back, not wanting any of them near me like that, not even him. Despite what’s happened between us, I was still furious over everything they’d done.

Kidnapping Jace.

Phantom drugging me.

The fucking trial.

They might’ve saved my life and had amazing cocks, but that didnotmean they’d earned my forgiveness, or deserved it.

“And we’re sorry,” Rhett said again. “We want to hear your side of the story.”

I kept my iciness locked on Rhett, who sighed and innocently threw up his hands.

“Please, Samara. We need reassurance. We need to know that you aren’t going to backstab us after the trials.”

“And that’s it? After that, you’ll let me go?”

“Yes,” answered Isaac. “You’re free to go after that.”

I wasn’t fully sure if I believed them. “No games?”

“No games,” agreed Phantom. “We promise.”

“Fine. We can talk, but I’mnotgoing to the shed.”

I expected them to protest, but I was completely dumbstruck as they departed for the tree stumps and each claimed a seat, observing me intently. From where I was standing, their placement somewhat reminded me of a throne. Rhett in the middle, Phantom on the left, and Isaac on the right.

And then there was me, standing before the Kings of Storm Ridge Academy like I was being put on actual trial.

“We’re waiting,” Isaac sneered.

I scowled at him. “You know this already, so I don’t really know what it is you want from me.”

“Let’s just start from thebeginning,” Phantom offered. “Were you always a dancer at the club?”
