The moment I exit his room, I hear a scream.
“Fuck!” I run down the hall to my room, fumbling with the key to get in. Once I do, I plow through the still broken door and into Belle’s room. She’s curled into a tight ball, muttering something. I get closer to hear what she’s saying.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
My heart breaks with every word she mutters. Then suddenly she’s screaming again, and I’m hopping on the bed next to her.
“Shh. It’s ok. It’s me, mo chridhe,” I whisper, stroking her face gently with my knuckles. “It’s ok. I’m here and no one will hurt you.”
Belle instantly relaxes at the sound of my voice. Her hand snakes up and grabs my shirt, holding onto me and making sure I stay. I slide down next to her, not bothering to remove my clothes, but I’m able to kick my shoes off.
I know this is a bad idea. My feelings are already muddled when it comes to her. But even so, I can’t watch her in pain like this. If sleeping next to her allows her some peace, then I’ll gladly give her that.

I wokeup to an empty bed and the smell of mint and cedarwood on my pillow. I slept like the dead last night, and if I’ve learned anything since leaving Brad, it means Kai slept next to me. I didn’t even need the lingering scent of him on my pillow to know that. Just the peaceful sleep was enough.
My phone is vibrating nonstop on the nightstand next to me, so I grab it. I groan when I see how many messages I have from a group chat titled‘Band of Badasses and Kai.’I snort, knowing Willa named it. I ended up telling her about the kiss on the walk back to the hotel. It takes less than five minutes to walk from the pub to the hotel, but her glare forced it out of me. Well, her glare and the fact that I couldn’t hold it in even if I wanted to.

She’s playing tonight?
Cal
How the fuck does she learn music that fast? I’ve watched her do it and I still can’t believe it.
Willa
The better question is why you take so long.

It doesn’t when he’s paying attention.
