"I like her, nephew. Feisty. Must be, to be keeping your interest, isn't that right? And I don't just mean in the office..."

"Don't touch her," I growl.

He drops her hand, and she lets it flop to the side and then holds as far out from her body as possible, like she is disgusted to be attached to it. "As you wish. But dear, when he decides that he's bored of you, and that you're not as important to him as his precious company, you're going to need this business card. Trust me. I've known him his whole life. Whatever he's told you about how important you are to him, he's lying. My little buddy there only cares about power. Isn't that right, Kingsley? And you don't care about who you have to hurt to get it. And if it's hurt that you want, baby, you might as well come to a man who knows how to do it right."

He reaches out, and runs his finger along her cheek.

And then it all happens so fast, I barely know I've moved until it's done.

Shoulder forward so it rams into his solar plexus, I charge at my uncle as fast and as hard as I can. He screams when we makecontact, and bends over, emptying his stomach contents on the floor of the Baxter International Headquarters.

"Kingsley!" Luna shouts, and pulls my arms back as I rear, ready to charge at him again. My body still shaking with the adrenaline and impact of hitting him.

I shake her off, gritting my teeth as I grab the front of his shirt, and swing my left fist into his face, feeling it crack under my knuckles.

"I'm going to kill you repulsive piece of shit," I hiss, slamming my fist across his face again, feeling the cartilage of his nose give way under my knuckles.

The sound almost makes me smile.

"Kingsley! Oh my god."" Luna yells, her voice the only sound cutting through the ringing in my ears.

He rains red from his nose, eyes wide with fear as I pull him close so he can hear every word I have to say. "I told you not to touch her. And that is going to be the last time you go anywhere near her, you fucking hear me?"

I pull my arm back, ready to swing again, when someone yanks him out of reach, and my fingers open and clench trying to grab for his shirt again.

"Sir. Let's go," an unfamiliar voice says to Gerry, pulling him away, and I lose him in the blur.

"Sir, Mr. Baxter, we need to get you out of here." I recognize Jim that time.

"Come on, Kingsley. I've got you. Let's go," Luna whispers, her voice swirling around me, her hand hot and small on my back, pushing me towards my private elevator in the back of the lobby.

"No. I have to finish it, Luna. Finish him," I hiss, trying to pull away.

But she is surprisingly strong for a five foot imp.

"No," she says, firmly. "Not now. Listen to me. Not now. Okay? People are watching. We have to go."

Her tiny hand slips into mine and she pulls me into the waiting elevator, pushing me hard, forcing me deep inside it. I slam against the back wall, as she stands guard at the closing elevator doors until they shut, Jim watching from the other side.

"Where is it, dammit?" She rifles in my back pocket for my wallet, and pulls out my security key card when she finds it. With a pointed finger she jabs the top floor button and waits for the elevator to move before she joins me, holding my face between her hands.

"Hey, Kingsley, look at me."

I blink, and tilt my head, fighting through the crimson haze to search for her eyes.

"I said look at me," she urges.

"Iam."

"Your eyes are but your brain isn't."

I shake my head, trying to get a grip on my thoughts. "I can't control my brain, Luna."

"The hell you can't, Kingsley. You control everything. Now, look at me. And just me. It's just us in this elevator. Repeat after me,"

I copy her breathing rhythm. In and out. "It's just us."

"Okay good. I've got you." Her hands slide down my face, over my shoulders and down my arms until her hands slide into mine. She gives them a little squeeze and my face scrunches in a wince. "Shit. Your hand."
