"But I was like...so hot. You should’ve seen how how." I giggle and then instantly regret it. "Ow. Not feeling so hot right now."

"Still hot as fuck to me, Moonshine," he smiles with a wink.

"Nuh-uh. I'm all tubey and bandagey."

"I'd still do you."

"Lies." I rest for a few seconds. "I'm sorry about the dress. I got it...dirty."

"Shhh...there will be hundreds of other dresses."

"That one was special. I felt like a princess in it."

Gentle fingers brush the hair out of my eyes. "You don't get it, do you? You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. You, all versions of you. Even tubey and bandagey, you're the most beautiful mummy I've ever seen. In fact, Moonshine Mummy might be my favorite ever."

"Wow. Have you been taking sweet talking lessons from Matthias while I've been lying here?"

He laughs, and a tiny spot of color returns to his cheeks.

I try to lift my hand to his face, but it quickly becomes apparent that that is a bad freaking idea. So, I just wave with one single finger and he laughs and hooks his finger into mine.

"You okay?" I ask, not even wanting to think about how it must’ve been for him to find me like that.

"Luna, you're awake, and looking at me. I've never been more okay in my life."

I sigh. "Low bar. I’m not even going to bother shaving my legs from now on."

"Whatever you want. Maybe Werewolf Luna will turn out to be favored over Mummy Moonshine."

I chuckle and then wince. "Ow.” The words lie heavy on my dry tongue, but I know I have to say them. “Kingsley, the mugger… I should probably tell you."

The smile on his lips fades and his fingers link tighter through mine. "Hey. It's okay. I know it wasn't a random mugger.'"

"I'm sorry I should've told you. He—"

"Not now. You need to rest. We can talk about it later, okay?"

I close my eyes, relieved. I don't really have the energy to talk about it now but I'm glad he knows.

"All that matters to me now, is that, you're safe. And I'm here. We're all here. Alex is here, too. Peeta is here and just causing mayhem in the waiting room. We're all here. And the only thing we care about is you."

I breathe again, wincing from the pain, feeling my eyes flutter shut. "I'm just going to get a little more sleep."

"Okay, I'll be right here when you wake up."

"I like that, I can't sleep when…"

"When I'm not with you, I know. You don't ever have to worry about that again."

I sleep - hurting but feeling safe. And that's the important thing.

"Ireallyneed to get out of here," I say to the girls a few days later.

"Yeah, that's not happening," My-Linh shoots back.

"But, I'mfine."

"You haven't seen"— Kiara waves her arm over my torso—"trust me, you're not fine."
