"I gotta go to class," Lexa says as she stands. "I'll be back later. Hopefully to hear Sophie has let that ice cold heart thaw out."

I give her a deadpan look. "You're calling someone cold-hearted?"

"Yes, but you see, I really am cold-hearted. You're pretending to be, so you don't get hurt again. But in the process of trying not to get hurt, you're about to miss out on letting Law love you."

I swallow thickly and she nods.

"Yeah, Soph." She gives me a small smile. "Call me if anything happens and I'm here."

"Bye," Me and Charlotte say.

"Don't you start in now that she's gone," I warn her.

She puts her hands up. "I'm just going to be over sipping on broth, watching you enjoy the breakfast your boyfriend sent us."

I chuckle. "Smooth."

"It was right?"

By lunch time, I've gone over every moment me and Law have spent together in my mind. Rehashed each Saturday we've met. Replayed every word. Inhaled his scent that's lingering on my hoodie from our hug, and finally given in to what my heart keeps whispering to me. That I want him. That I need him. That I love him. But how the hell do you start over from something like this? You can't just go back to how things were, not after so much has been said and done. Maybe the way to begin again, is to go back to the beginning.

I walk over to the window as I press the button to call the place I just googled, not wanting to wake Charlotte.

"The Lincoln, how may I help you?" a woman answers.

"I would like a room for tonight," I say. "Specifically room 636."

"Let me check if that room is available." A pause before she confirms that it is. "I will need your information and card number to reserve it."

I get my wallet out of my purse and tell her the numbers. Lord knows I have more than enough money in my account to book the room.

"Great. We will need to see the card you used and I.D. when you arrive here. See you soon Miss Lexington."

"Thank you."

I hang up and hold the phone to my chest, gathering the strength to text Law.

"It’s about time." I hear behind me.

I smile as I look over my shoulder. "Were you ever even sleeping at all?"

"Yes, but my sister arranging a booty call woke me up."

I gasp before laughing. "It is not a booty call."

"I sure as hell hope it is. One of us has to be having sex."

"Now that you have your new kidney, you'll be in some strange man's bed in no time."

She snuggles farther into the sheets and closes her eyes. "A girl can only dream. Now let Law know you'll be waiting for him, thighs open tonight."

"I cannot with you."

She smiles and goes silent. I pull my phone away from my chest, going to the contact I'd changed toLying Asshole.I uh, might want to change that later. But for now, I type out a simple message. One I've received before.

Me: The Lincoln. Room 636. 9 pm. Don't be late.
