Jordyn looks at me, and I know that look. She wants me to give them our good news.
“We’re having a baby!” I shout, and the room erupts. We’re hugged by every single person, and perhaps more than once; I lost count.
Eventually, it’s just the two of us, and my wife is back in my arms where she’s supposed to be.
“You once told me to stay present. I was stuck living in the past, unable to see beyond the fear and the hatred to look forward to anything else.”
