An hour later, l’m standing with Izaac in front of the restaurant, saying a quick goodbye to Austin and congratulating him on such a successful night. Every guest has walked away with a smile on their face, and I’ve never been so proud. I overheard an influencer going live and showing the world how incredible this new restaurant was. She was raving about the place, and I’m not going to lie, there might have been a tear or two in the very corner of my eye.

Austin disappears again, and as Izaac leads me back to his Escalade, I can’t help but overhear Mom talking to Dad a little further down the road. “Shirly was telling me about this new club in the area called Vixen. She said it was easily the best night of her life. I think we should go some time.”

My stomach drops and Izaac gapes at me. “They’re gonna need a permanent ban,” I tell him. “There is no way I’m walking into that club ever again if I’m at risk of seeing my parents getting it on.”

“Come on,” Izaac teases. “They’re still young. It’s healthy.”

“They can be healthy all they want, but not at Vixen. I mean, shit, Izaac. What if they’re not the boring missionary type. You don’t know what they’re into. What if you walk onto the main floor to see my father on his knees with a ball gag in his mouth?”

Izaac’s face falls, and I laugh at how the color drains from his face. “Okay. Yeah. Good point. Consider them officially banned.”

“Thank you,” I say, reaching for the front of his shirt and pulling him in. “You know who isn’t banned though?”

He arches his brow. “You wanna go?”

I bite down on my bottom lip, holding his hooded gaze as I slowly nod. I haven’t stepped foot inside Vixen sincethatnight and have been too nervous to even consider it, but I think I’m finally ready. “I do,” I tell him. “But I don’t want you taking me in one of your private rooms.”

He watches me carefully. “I’m not sharing you.”

“I don’t want you to.”

He leans on the car, pressing against me as he winds that big hand around the base of my throat and forces my chin up. “Then what do you want, Birdy?”

A grin stretches across my face as I trail my fingers down his chest, not stopping until I’m palming his erection through the front of his pants. “I want to put on a show, but only for you, and you won’t be touching me until you’re on your knees begging to taste me.”

He groans. “Baby, don’t do that to me. You know I can’t resist touching you.”

I shake my head. “If you want to play, then we play by my rules,” I tell him, my lips grazing over his in the sweetest tease. “You’ve already taught me everything I need to know about my body and my limits, but now it’s my turn to teach you a little something about yours.”

Izaac swipes his thumb across my bottom lip. “Okay, Birdy. Have it your way. But just remember, you asked for this, and when it comes to fucking, your self-control is nowhere near as good as mine,” he tells me. “You’re gonna break long before I do, and when it comes down to it, you’ll be the one on your knees begging.”

“You really think you’re that good?” I murmur, clutching the front of his shirt and refusing to let go.

“Care to make it interesting?”

My brow arches with the thrill of excitement pulsing through my body, already on the edge. “A bet?”

He nods. “What do you want, Birdy?”

I press my lips together, thinking it over and wondering just how far I can push my luck. “Hmmm okay,” I finally say, more than ready to make it interesting. “If I win and you break first, we get a puppy.”

“A puppy?” he asks. “Since when have you wanted a puppy?”

“Since now,” I tell him, smug as ever while also knowing that he gets me anything I ask for simply because that’s his favorite thing to do. “Besides, they’re cute. It can be the start of our family, and you’re gonna need something to cuddle when you inevitably lose.”

Izaac laughs. “Okay. Have it your way. You win, we get a puppy.”

“And not that it’s going to happen, but if by sheer luck you don’t break? Then what do you get?”

“If I win …” he says, his tone dropping low as he leans back into me, taking me by the back of my neck and holding my stare hostage. Electricity buzzes in the air around us, and I suck in a breath at the way he holds my stare, my hand gripping his shirt and refusing to let go. “If I win, Birdy, I make you my wife.”

Well, shit.

A smile pulls at my lips, and I tilt my chin just a little bit higher, closing the gap between our lips and kissing him deeply. He quickly takes control, his tongue sweeping into my mouth and taking my breath away. When he finally pulls back, he holds my stare. “What’s it going to be? Do we have a deal?”

I’ve never been one to cheat, never thrown a game, or given less than everything I’ve got, but for the first time in my life, I’ve never wanted to lose so badly.

A wicked grin cuts across my face, and I kiss him one more time. “Game on, Izaac Banks. Game on.”
