"Flynn," Nick said with a smile."This is Isabella."
"I was hoping I'd get to meet you, Isabella," Flynn said.
"Likewise.Thanks for your help.The information you gave us on Juliette Sabatini came in handy."
"Happy to hear that.I got your text, Nick.Now that everything is resolved, I hope you'll take that vacation I suggested."
"Actually, I'm going to do just that," Nick said.
"Good.I've got your grandmothers here, and they're all set up to chat.I have to warn you, though, that you might see some new pictures in the background.They've been doing some decorating."
"Great," he muttered.
Isabella laughed at his expression."It sounds like your apartment needed some décor."
"It did," Anna said as her face popped up behind Flynn."Oh, my, I can see you so well, Nick."
Nick laughed."You look good, Nonna."
"Flynn has been taking great care of us, and Andi, too.She's a sweetheart.We also met Beck and Caitlyn."She paused, turning to Gloria, who was crowding in behind her."Who else, Gloria?"
"Damon and Sophie, and their beautiful little girls," Gloria replied.
"Sounds like you two have been partying," Nick teased.
"They have," Flynn said."I'm going to let you all talk."
As Flynn disappeared from the frame, their grandmothers sat down in front of the screen, and Isabella was happy to see them looking so well."It's good to see you, Grandma."
"You both look wonderful," her grandmother replied."Flynn told us some of what happened.I'm sure he didn't give us the entire story, but he said you found the paintings, and we're not in danger."
"And I don't have to feel guilty anymore about losing Tomas's painting," Anna added.
She suddenly realized that their grandmothers weren't talking about the valuable stolen paintings they'd discovered at the school, but the ones by Tomas and Lucinda, and she didn't know where those were.
Nick's hand came down on her thigh, giving it a squeeze.He didn't want her to say anything, and she wasn't going to.Maybe Captain Lavezzo would find those paintings and get them back.They were probably in Stefano's or Matthew's possession.
"How are you enjoying LA?"Nick asked.
"We've had so much fun," Anna replied."Your team has been so sweet to us.They've taken us sightseeing, made sure we had food, and even took us shopping.We found some great things for your apartment, Nick."
"I appreciate that, Nonna.I think you and Gloria should stay a few more days."
"Really?Are you and Isabella heading back here soon?"
"Actually, Isabella and I are going to spend a few more days here in Italy, maybe take a drive through Tuscany."
Their grandmothers exchanged a quick look and then tried to pretend they didn't care at all.
"Well, that sounds nice," her grandmother said."I guess you two are getting along."
"We need a few more days to see just how well we're getting along," she interjected.
"Then maybe we'll stay here a while longer," Gloria said.
"Oh, wait," Anna interrupted."I have to go to your father's vow renewal ceremony on Sunday, Nick.I'll have to come back by Friday."
