She's afraid of Zac, and I want to know why.

The officer who holds a grudge, deep brown eyes throwing off daggers sharp enough to kill, smirks as I look at him. "Visitor."

I don't move. I wait until the visitor shows themselves. It could be Harry for all we know, coming to piss us off further. Or it could be my parents. Coach steps forward. There's a storm gathering in his eyes too.

"Whitlock, with me. Now."

"I'm not leaving my girl." I sit straighter, ready for battle. Again. But there’s no way I’m leaving her.

We come as a package deal, and people need to get used to that.

Coach's jaw pops, but having a daughter, I’d assume he’d want someone to protect her in the same way. “She's leaving, too."

And then four parents walk into the waiting area, and each of my boys shift uncomfortably.

"Mom?" Mia whispers before she gestures with her hands.

Damn. She's quick. I'd learnt sign language for Amy and had been thankful when she'd grasped lip reading a hell of a lot quicker.

The police officer side eyes me as he unlocks the door. I give him my trademark smirk and feel the fire hit as he unlocks the handcuffs.

"Boathouse," Coach barks.

I stare at his back as Mia rushes to her mom. They look alike, except the grey streaks through her mother's auburn hair. Her mother's eyes are more of an apple green than the summer grassI've come to love. Sawyer's dad throws him a smirk and gives him a pat on the back. Okay. Well at least Greg isn’t bothered by this. In general, he always seems rather chilled, he’s built like Drax fromGuardians of the Galaxyso I always expect him to lose it at some point. Lucas's mom is keeping her head down, a petite woman with soft blond curls, ones that split into a parting over her shoulders. She might look petite, but we've all seen the fire in her eyes over the years. Kit's mom grabs him, smiles and then mutters, "bloody idiot!"

I smirk. They’d been blessed with supportive parents. And as verbal punishments go, it could have been worse.

We all begin to walk several long blocks to the boathouse. Even the parents don't question Coach. I'm thankful my parents aren't here. I'm not even sure they would have been contacted. They aren't my contact when I'm in trouble. Coach is. I should have expected him to come. He has his nose to the ground when it comes to his crew, and that feed had been live.

My hand itches to reach towards Mia as we all enter the boathouse, Coach turns on all the lights. Mia isn't looking at me, and I don't have a clue what that means or if her mom will have questions. Shit. This isn’t the best first impression I can make.

"Sit down and listen up."

We sit.

And wait.

"What the hell happened?" Coach barks.

Sawyer jumps in to explain, and we let him. He's the better speaker in this room. The parents listen until Sawyer stops.

"Is anything happening to him and his assault?" Lucas' mom asks, red staining her cheeks.

Coach shakes his head. "At this moment, unfortunately, they're all as bad as each other."

"He trashed the boathouse!" Kit storms as his mom attempts to shush him.

"And where is your evidence?" Coach lays his hands out in front of him, like he’s inviting the evidence to magically appear.

"You don't seriously believe he didn't do it!" Lucas snorts.

"We all have our gut instinct, but we can't go around fighting because we feel it's justified."

"Agreed." Sawyer's dad nods. “But I’ve also brought my boy up to defend himself, and women.”

“That may be, Greg, but he’ll get kicked off the crew.”

Greg frowns. “Why? It’s just one fight.”
