Winnie smiles up at me, her eyelids fluttering shut for a moment as I cup both of her cheeks. “Well,” she begins, “what do you think?” She takes a step back, holding her arms out wide as my eyes rake over the foyer.

“Winnie,” I breathe, at a complete loss for words because the space is completely different than when we first bought the house—and it’s absolutely incredible.

“Maybe elaborate a little more, Archer,” she says, her voice tight. “Does that mean you like it?”

My hand swipes over my face as I take everything in. The space is so open you can see all the way to the back of the house where double doors open out to our back patio and eventually the water. My gaze sweeps over the walls. They’re a lighter color than when I bought the house. The cream color helps to lighten up the space. She’s made the area feel welcoming but also elegant. It doesn’t have the coastal vibes of some of the otherhouses I’ve visited in Greenwich. It feels very her—and I’ve never loved a house more.

“Archer,” Winnie continues, her voice pleading. “Do you hate it?”

My eyes meet hers. I feel terrible that for a few seconds, I can’t form words. I’m just overcome with an overwhelming amount of love for my wife. “Not at all,” I finally get out. I smile, already envisioning us filling this house with as many kids as she wants. “I’ve never been more in love with a house than I am right now.”

Her cheeks turn pink as a beaming smile overtakes her face. “Really?” Her chest barely moves, as if she’s anxiously holding her breath.

I let out a content sigh, taking a step deeper into the foyer. My hand runs along the bannister of the grand staircase. She’s replaced the carpet on the stairs, using a pattern that catches the eye and puts a personal touch on the large stairs.

“You’re quiet. That makes me nervous,” Winnie says from behind me. She wraps her arms around my middle, placing her cheek to my back as she allows me to look around.

“I’m sorry, baby. I’m not trying to be quiet,” I try to reassure her. “It’s just so beautiful—so perfect—there aren’t enough words to describe how excited I am to finally move in. To start this next chapter of our lives together.”

“Yeah?” she asks cautiously, tightening her arms around me.

“It’s better than I could’ve ever imagined. God, Winnie. You’re so talented, you know that?”

She laughs, her breath breaking through the thin fabric of my dress shirt. “All I did was make minor renovations and decorate the house.”

I turn to face her, grabbing her chin and forcing her to look at me. “You made it the perfect home for us. The place we’ll host our friends countless times over the years. The place we’ll bring a baby or two home to. One we’ll grow in. You made it absolutely perfect.”

“What if I want five kids?” she teases.

I smile, letting my hands travel down her back until I’m cupping her ass and lifting her feet off the floor. She yelps, wrapping her arms around my neck.

“I’ll take as many babies as you’ll give me,” I answer, getting harder by the second thinking about getting her pregnant. I love the thought of us bringing life into this world. I hope we have five little girls that all look like her.

“Five sounds fun,” she jokes, her thighs tightening around my middle.

“Let’s start practicing right now.” I walk us over to a long dining room table that’s got to fit at least eighteen people.

“No!” she scolds, rocking her hips against me despite her protest. “What about the tour of the house?”

I set her down on the edge, carefully running my hand along the wood to try and move the fancy dishes she’s laid out. I move a little too quickly, accidentally knocking a bowl to the ground with a loud crash.

“Archer! Those were expensive,” she says, fisting the fabric of my shirt and bringing my body against hers.

“I’ll buy new ones.”

“They were specially made. Our custom monogram is on them.”

I shrug, pushing her hair off her shoulders so I can kiss her neck. “We’ll have new ones made. We’ve got the rest of our lives to discuss every detail and thought you put into the house. But after getting a first look at what you’ve done and imagining you stepping through the front door with a rounded belly pregnant with our child…well it’s made me desperate for you.”

She smiles, her face getting flushed with want. It’s always when her cheeks and chest get red that I know she’s just as needy for me as I am her. “We do have a lot of time to look at the rest of the house. A quick pause wouldn’t hurt anything.”

Leaning down, I press my lips to hers. She’s ready for me immediately, her mouth opening and her tongue meeting mine. She lets out a soft little moan when my hand snakes underneath the short tennis skirt she put on this morning. It’s been teasing me all damn day—even though I had a taste of pushing inside her this morning before we ever even left the bed for the day.

I slip my fingers underneath the fabric of her panties, feeling her already wet and ready for me. Before I push a finger inside her, I break the kiss and look into her eyes. “I love you, with everything that I am and everything I’ll ever be. I can’t wait for a lifetime of memories in this house with you.”

She smiles. “I love you. You’re my everything, Archer Moore. I’m happy you love the house. I did it all for you.”

“For us,” I correct, leaning in to press a chaste kiss to her lips.
