“Yeah. I bought it for you to keep here just in case you’re overly stressed and need it.” He winked as he walked over to the sink and washed his hands.

I couldn’t believe he’d done that. In the six months I dated Quinton, he never once bought me Ben and Jerry’s to keep at his place.

“What?” Carter laughed as I stared at him.

“That was really sweet of you to do that. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” He kissed my lips and took the steaks out to the grill.

I grabbed the design Ava hand drew and stepped onto the patio.

“What do you think?” I showed Carter.

“That looks great. What is it?”

“What do you mean? That’s the front of the bakery.”

“The front of the building doesn’t look like that.” His brow arched. “Did you draw that?”

“No. Ava did. We both have a vision. By the way, I’m hiring her to help me with the shop's interior design. We’re going shopping tomorrow to start picking things out.”

“That’s great.” He smiled. “But I don’t understand this.” He pointed to the paper.

“It needs to be redone. As my investor, you can clearly see that this new design will attract more people.”

Carter chuckled. “You want Shaun to replace the door and the window?”

“Yes. Just the front window, though. The others are fine.”

“You realize this is going to cost a lot more money, right?” His brow arched.

“I ran the numbers in my head, and it’ll be worth it.”

“Well, you better talk to him right now and get the approval so you can let Stefan know.”

I stepped inside the house, grabbed my phone, and sent Shaun a text.

“Hi! I’m changing the building's front door and front window to match the aesthetic of the inside of the bakery.

“Go for it. It’s Carter’s money.” He attached the smiley emoji.

“Thanks, Shaun.”

“Did you text him?” Carter stepped inside.

“He said to go for it because it’s your money.” I grinned.

“Of course, he did.” He sighed.

I opened my eyes and looked over at the empty side. Glancing at the clock, it was seven a.m. Zoey had left at five-thirty to head to Four Kinds to bake the cake and cupcakes for my brother’s birthday party. After showering and getting dressed, my phone pinged with a text message from Grayson.

“We’re out on my patio. Get your ass out here.”

I made a cup of coffee, stepped out the sliding door, and walked over to Grayson’s.

“Happy birthday, my brothers.” I grinned as I set my coffee down and hugged them.
