“Hey, babe. We’re all set for Saturday night at five p.m. in the Fountain Courtyard. I want the entire family standing up with us, so make sure the girls get beautiful dresses on me. Also, I don’t want you looking at any prices when you try on dresses. It doesn’t matter what it costs. If you love it, it’s yours. Do you understand me?”

“Yes, Carter. I think I already found one.”

“Good. Hold on a second. A text just came through.” I opened the text message from Gloria. “Babe, we have an appointment at Tiffany to look at rings at seven p.m. Make sure you’re back to the hotel in time.”

“I will. I love you so much, Carter.”

“Not as much as I love you, babe. See you later.” I walked over to Shaun. “I’m starting to feel guilty about not having Aunt Barb, Curtis, Riley, Lily, and Ella here with us. Can you have the plane bring them here Saturday mid-morning?”

“You bet.” He smiled as he patted my back. “Do me a favor, and don’t tell Simon. I want to see the look on his face when Barb walks in.”

“I won’t.” I chuckled. I walked away and called Aunt Barb.

“Hello, Carter.”

“Aunt Barb, I have some news. Zoey is pregnant.”

“Carter, that’s wonderful! I’m so happy for the two of you.”

“There’s more. We’re getting married in Vegas on Saturday at five p.m. at the Bellagio. Shaun’s plane is going to bring you, Curtis, Riley, Lily, and Ella. Shaun will text you with the time to be at the hangar. Can you please make sure the girls are ready?”

“Oh my gosh. This is so exciting. Of course, I’ll make sure the girls are ready. We’ll see you on Saturday. What about the bakery?”

“Close it down for Saturday. I’ll explain everything to Zoey when she gets back to the hotel. I’ll also book rooms for you and Curtis and the girls.”

“Thank you, Carter. We’ll see you on Saturday. Congratulations.”

“Thanks, Aunt Barb.”

CHAPTER 35

Zoey

“This is it. This is the one,” I said as I stared at myself in the A-line, off-the-shoulder, lace and beaded white wedding dress with the sweetheart neckline.

“It’s perfect and a perfect fit.” Jenni smiled. “Here is the matching veil.” She placed it on my head.

I placed my hands over my face and started crying.

“What’s wrong?” The girls ran over to me.

“I’m just so happy. I can’t believe I’m getting married in two days.”

“Aw, it’s the hormones.” Jenni hugged me.

“It’s going to be a beautiful wedding.” Piper smiled.

“Since Carter didn’t allow me the time to design your wedding dress, I’m going to design you the perfect dress for your reception when we get home.” Jenni smiled. “Dry your eyes, beautiful bride. We don’t have time for tears. You can cry all you want after you say, ‘I do.’”

We headed back to the hotel, and Carter and I went to Tiffany for our seven o’clock appointment. As two rows of diamond rings in different styles sat before me on a blue velvet cushion, I picked the three-carat princess-cut platinum band with diamonds going down each side and the matching wedding band encased in diamonds that matched. Carter picked out a double Milgran band in platinum that looked beautiful on his finger. We were fortunate that both rings were our size.

After leaving Tiffany, we headed to our suite to spend the rest of the night alone.

“How about we take a bubble bath in that giant tub,” Carter said.

“God, that sounds so good right now.”

“Once we’re finished, we’ll order room service,” he said as he started the water.
