The way all of them looked happy that I was back gave me hope I had made the right decision to come back. To become the Alpha that they needed me to be. I allowed my gaze to roam over the crowd once more before stepping forward and shutting the door.

“Dolostone, I’m sorry that this has happened to you. I should’ve come back sooner. But I’m here now and we have an alliance with the other two bigger packs. Give me some time to get this pack to all its glory because that is my goal.”

Cheers erupted from the crowd, along with some sobs. I turned to the wolves on the steps and to Harlen.

“Is there any food in the packhouse?” I questioned Harlen as I passed him.

“Very little. We will have to go over the accounts and see what we can do.” My Beta answered me as he stepped in beside me.

I nodded and headed into the house that I never would have thought I would enter again. Compared to the buildings in town, this was almost well kept. But there were signs that the house was crumbling in on itself. They covered watermarks on the celling with recent paint and the floors were cracked in places.

Making my way to the office that had been handed down to my father and then to me. Told me just how much the place was being neglected. As I opened the doors, he had changed the room from the soft tones of paint to dark and gloomy. I opened the curtains to allow the light into the room. The view from this office used to calm me, but the burnt and destroyed land hurt my soul.

The computer on the desk sat waiting to be started up, so I sat down in the new chair and set to work. I wasn’t prepared for the battle of trying to get back into the computers that my uncle had changed. When I finally got in, my stomach sank. My pack was broke. He had literally spent so much from the accounts that we wouldn’t last the winter. Harlen came in and I glanced up at him.

“I don’t know what to do. There’s no money in the accounts.”

“Alpha Nolen and Alpha Sawyer told you they would help you. Maybe you should contact them?”

I shook my head and stood glancing out over the buildings that needed to be rebuilt and the lands that needed to be helped. There was no way that I could ask them for help. Even though we had an alliance. If I borrowed from them, how was I going to pay them back?

“Look, I know that you just got back. But I think you need to ask them for help.” Harlen came up to me and patted me on the shoulder.

Taking a deep breath, I turned to the phone on the desk. Could I ask them for help? I mean, I had to do something, otherwise there would be no Dolostone pack come spring.

I sat down and picked up the phone, dialing Nolen’s number.

Nolen had come through for me and my pack. He came to my pack with food and an advance that I didn’t know how I was going to pay back. But I was grateful. He and his Luna and Alpha Sawyer and his Luna had come for the alpha ceremony.

This would be no different from my previous one, other than my parents wouldn’t be here. Harlen had sent for Bella, Sydnie and his son, Tobey. It was good seeing Bella again and Sydnie had grown since I last saw her. She was almost a full-grown wolf, since she would be eighteen next month. There was never any doubt that the boy was his. They looked almost alike.

I stood on the stage with the elder and Harlen. Alpha Nolen and Sawyer stood behind me as I became the Alpha of Dolostone again. The pack cheered as soon as our mindlink connected once more. It had been quiet in my head other than Aloysius. I felt like I was finally back where I belonged.Because you are, Fin. Now we need to get this pack right and then find our mate.

The party after wasn’t as grand as my previous one, but I wasn’t going to use up too much of the food that I had received from Alpha Nolen. They were happy to be there with me, and it was nice to have Hannah and Harley there, along with Olli and Markus.

Hannah and Harley had become Nolen’s gammas, and they were doing a great job. I never doubted that they would be the best for Nolen. Markus was in Sawyer’s pack since he had found his mate in that pack and was giving a few of the warriors a run for their money.

Olli had continued to be a rogue since he was the oldest of us. It felt like everything in my life was coming back together. The only thing I still didn’t have was my fated mate and Luna. Once I got the pack settled, I would go to find her, like Aloysius had mentioned. Selene had said that I had a fated, and I was holding her to it.

“So, how are you doing?” Markus’ voice brought my attention to him as he stood beside me as I stared out over the barren land I was trying to get back to flourishing. It was taking everything in my power to work the lands and help the wolves rebuild the town.

“Doing good. I’m going to have to figure out how to pay Alpha Nolen back.”

“You’ll figure it out. So anyone here, that mate of yours?”

I chuckled and shook my head. “No, but I can’t really worry about finding her right now. Do you really think that she would want to be Luna of my pack with it looking like this?”

“Mates are weird. They do some crazy things.” He chuckled with me. A few of the pups still stayed very close to their mothers while the wolf pups from Rhyolite and Quartzite played. I was hoping that with them here, they would know how to be children.

“This is true. How are you doing at Quartzite?” I asked him as a little boy from Rhyolite went up to Tobey and asked him to play.

Once he went to play, the others followed him. Tobey had it in him to be a leader and I was glad that he was able to flourish in his mother’s birth pack.

Three months later

I sat at the head of the table in what was once our war room. The remodeling of the pack house had come along relatively quickly. I had made sure that the pack’s houses were rebuilt first. Because they had been through the worst since I had been gone and it was only fair to have them done first. A lot of the pack wanted to get the pack house done but I refused. I could manage as we did the town.

Harlen was to my left and two of my previous deltas were on the right. The gamma position was open since Wade had killed him and then the one he appointed to the position lost his life during the battle. I hadn’t found the right wolf to take his place. But I wasn’t in a hurry to fill the position.
