Iwalked up the hill to the packhouse, completely nude. Since all the clothes had been taken off the line. Luckily for me, I knew just the way to get to my room without going through the house.

Climbing up the tree near my balcony, I jumped from the limb and onto the Dolostone crystal railing. I went through the open doors and followed my mate’s scent of peonies and cedar to the bathroom and leaned against the doorjamb. Nikita was drying her hair when she finally noticed me in the doorway. Her eyes flickered between her wolf’s and her hunter green.

Her lithe body trembled, and I caught her rubbing her thighs together. I chuckled and made my way to her. It excited me that she didn’t try to cover herself up in front of me. “It’s my turn.”

“By all means. It’s all yours, Alpha Fin.”

I cocked my head at her answer. There she was, using my title again. I shook my head and leaned against her and turned on the water once more. Stepping under the warm water, I allowed the warm liquid to run down my mud caked body. I knew I shouldn’t have acted that way in the SUV, but the thought of that young alpha selling my mate to another pack pissed me off. It made me wonder why he didn’t. Did they not offer enough money?

Hell, he shouldn’t have even thought about the idea of selling his best fighter to someone else. Especially someone who was needing someone to help build their warriors. They would be able to use her to take over the pack.

As I cleaned my body, she was brushing out her hair in a pair of panties and a bra. I wanted to keep her in this room as long as I could, but I had heard about the talk about the new woman in the packhouse from the other wolves through the mind link. They were worried about her and intrigued by her at the same time. I didn’t blame them.

Besides, they deserved to know that their Alpha now had his fated mate and that everything would be okay. They needed a hope that I couldn’t give them myself. They needed her, and I was glad that she was as strong as she was.

I didn’t think about training Kalila because we were in an era of peace, so why should my Luna know? But Nikita, she was the polar opposite and I couldn’t help but love her for it. She was the breath of air I needed.

There was just one thing that unnerved me. Most females wanted to be marked and mated as soon as possible. Why didn’t Nikita? Did she still have feelings for a male in her pack? I mean, it wasn’t my fault that I was older than her. It was, however, my fault that it took me so long to find her because I had taken a chosen.

I hopped out of the shower, and Nikita had made her way to the bedroom. She was bent over the bed, digging in her suitcase that she had brought with her. The panties showing off the bulge of her pussy. “I think if you keep bending over that bag like that, then you might not make it to dinner.”

She straightened up and glanced over her shoulder. Nikita’s eyes flickered between her and her wolf’s. “You would be disappointing your pack, would you not? Besides, I think your Beta’s female likes me and I don’t want to mess that up.”

“Bella likes almost everyone.”

Nikita giggled before shimming into her pants that she had found. I had never been one for staring at someone as they dressed, but she was a vision I never could have imagined for myself. She needs to be marked and mated. Nikita would be even more beautiful if she was swollen with our pup.

She isn’t ready to be marked yet and if I learned anything from Selene, then being patient is a virtue.I answered Aloysius as I went into my closet and grabbed some casual clothes to wear to the dinner. Tonight wouldn’t be too much of a celebration but it would be where I would announce her as my fated.

Aloysious snorted and turned his back on me. Heading out into the living room area, Nikita stared out the balcony doors at the mountains. If she would allow me to mark her, I’d be able to mindlink her like the other pack members. But I was going to respect her wishes for right now and allow her to get comfortable here at the pack.

“You ready to head down?”

Nikita turned and nodded. I didn’t miss the way her eyes roamed my body as she made her way to me. Placing my hand on the small of her back, I steered her to the door and down the steps. The muscles in her lower back twitched and rolled as she walked with me. They reminded me of last night when she was on my lap riding me. I couldn’t wait to have her again in my bed screaming my name.

I traced slow circles where my hand rested and she glanced at me from the side of her eye. A few of the younger wolves snickered while others sighed as we walked by. They had never seen me with a she-wolf and nothing like Nikita. The older ones had been there with Kalila and I hoped they didn’t make Nikita’s life too hard. Because Jade and Harmony were sending her glares as I brought her up to the Alpha table. They would just have to deal with this change because Nikita would be here for the rest of her life.

Bella was sitting beside Harlen, their son sitting with his friends. Bella smiled at Nikita as she sat in the seat beside me. I had yet to name a gamma, so the seat beside Nikita was empty. Wolves filed in and took their seats. Tables to the back didn’t fill as there were still wolves out in the fields and some patrolling. It had been packed before my uncle took over.

The wolves that were left did what they needed to survive. I didn’t blame them for that because I had run when Harlen told me to. So that I could return to them. But I didn’t return and a few of them blamed me for what happened to them while my uncle was in charge. Which had often made me wonder if being Alpha again was what was needed.

Jade and Harmony sat at their normal tables but continued to glare at Nikita. Other than them hating her because of Kalila, I couldn’t think of another reason they would hate another wolf they hadn’t met before. When the rest of the wolves came in, I stood and quieted the murmurings that were moving around the room.

“Dolostone pack. I have some great news for you all.” I paused to look over at Nikita and held out my hand for her to take. She slowly took my hand and stood. “Dolostone, this is Nikita, and she is my fated mate.”

The silence from them hurt a little as I glanced over at them. Bella stood first and came up to Nikita and hugged her. “I’m glad that Alpha Fin has finally found his fated. I personally am happy that you are here!”

Harlen stood and bowed his head to her, acknowledging her as his Luna. I could feel her anxiety through the bond but she didn’t show it on her face. Nikita held her head high as she nodded back to Harlen and Bella.

“If she is your fated, then why is she not marked? And exactly how old is she? Eighteen?” Jade’s voice cut through the silence, and a few gasps came from a few of the surrounding wolves. No one would have dared challenge me and I couldn’t believe that Jade would in front of everyone.

“For your information, I’m not eighteen. I’m twenty-five.” Nikita’s voice rose from beside me with authority. If I didn’t know any better, I thought I had heard a little bit of an alpha tone to her voice. And since I didn’t mark her yet, it wasn’t coming from our bond. I was proud of her for standing up for herself, not like she wouldn’t.

“Well, you will be no Luna of mine. The real Luna lost her life. There will be no other Luna for me.” Jade stood and crossed her arms over her chest. She was one of the strongest females here. That was until Nikita stepped onto the territory.

“That’s fine. I’m not here to replace anyone. I’m here because your Alpha found me and I’m his fated. As far as him not marking me, I asked him to give me some time. Not like you really needed to know any of that and if you still have a problem with me. We can meet at the training pitch.” The way she talked to her let Jade know that she was ranked higher than her.

“I’d meet you at the training pitch anytime and day.”
