Don’t faint on me now, my feisty Luna. When we get to the pack house, you can rest, but right now, you need to stay awake.

Fin, it’s hard.

I know. But tomorrow will be better. I promise.

I nodded, trying to keep my eyes open as he took me back down the trail with all the lights guiding our way.

Fin

When our blood touched, I could feel the power that she possessed. I knew she was strong, but when our strength collided, I couldn’t hold us both up. I went down to my knees with Nikita in my lap. Glancing up, I spotted the Lunar Halo. From what I had heard about them, they were a gift from the Moon goddess. And they were very rare. I had only been told about four Lunas that have been given a gift this rare.

I was proud that Nikita was one of them that was given it. Her body glowed and shimmered under the light. Not only did she have the Lunar Halo, but the blue moon was something that was rare as well. When the Moon Goddess told me that we were destined I didn’t know that this was what she was meaning.

The look on Alpha Roy’s face was priceless when he noticed that there was a Lunar Halo. He knew right then that he had lost a very special wolf. The entire pack had taken a knee when the elder announced to them she was now their luna. Nikita was special. She had always been, and now she was even more special.

The wind caressed our bodies and played with Nikita’s hair as she hung in my arms. At first I thought that something had gone wrong. But Aloysius was adamant that she was fine and when I noticed she was still breathing, I could breathe myself. This hadn’t happened with Kalila, but when she joined it didn’t connect as powerful as Nikita’s.

I carried Nikita into the packhouse and up to our room. Laying her down on the bed, I covered her and left her in the room. As much as I didn’t want to leave her in the room by herself like this, I needed to go back to the guests and pack members. She still glowed in her white dress as she laid there. I wanted to lay down with her but I couldn’t leave Harlen to deal with the guests himself.

Harlen, send Dawson and Keith up to watch my door. I don’t trust that Alpha Roy will stay where he needs to be.

Yes, Alpha.

Taking one last look at my Luna, I closed the door to our room and headed back down to the first floor. Tobey came running up to me and tried to go around me. Hoisting him up in my arms, I carried him back to Harlen and Bella. Dawson and Keith headed up the stairs just as I spotted Alpha Roy starting toward the door.

“But Alpha Fin! I want to see Luna Nikita! She has been blessed!” Tobey whined as he struggled to make me let him go. He was so excited when she chose him to take her up to me.

I chuckled at the young wolf and handed him back to Harlen. “I know she is blessed. We all are to have a Luna like her.”

Sydnie came up to me and tapped my arm.

“Yes, Syd?”

“Will she be okay? Kalila didn’t do that with her Luna ceremony.” Sydnie’s eyes welled with tears. Making my chest tighten. When she had called me and told me what Jade had told her I was furious with jade for bringing Syd into this. She was already questioning Nikita and that didn’t help when she was trying to get everyone’s approval.

“Yes, she will be okay. She is just tired and needs some rest.”

Sydnie nodded and then took off to find her mate. Sighing, I turned my attention to the four wolves that had made their way to my pack for this occasion. Nolen had grown into his own as he settled into his alpha status. It looked like Sawyer’s Luna was again pregnant.

“Thank you both for coming.” I held out my hand and Nolen took my forearm in an Alpha handshake. He was definitely stronger since I had last seen him.

“You know that we wouldn’t miss this,” Nolen answered me with a smile. For him being so young, he had always been wise beyond his years. His little mate stood beside him. “Fin, who is the other alpha here? I don’t think I remember him.”

“This is Alpha Roy. He is the Alpha of the Shonkinite pack.” I introduced him to the alpha, standing by the door like he was about to bolt. “And this is his Luna.”

“Luna Adia. But you can call me Adia. We are a smaller pack than the three of yours.” I never could understand how she was always so kind when her mate seemed to always have something stuck up his ass. But that was the way of the Moon Goddess she paired wolves that would complement each other.

Sawyer’s and Nolen’s Lunas shook hands with her and then led her over to the food table. I noticed that Sawyer was starting to size him up. As much as I had been around the two of them, I had figured out the quirks of each of them. At this point, if Alpha Roy said anything out of the way, Sawyer might just cause a pack war. Not like it would be much of a fight. Shonkinite pack was still smaller than many of the pack in the Carin territory.

Alpha Roy would be a dumbass if he thought he could fight all three of us. Or even one of the others. He didn’t have enough wolves, and he didn’t have Nikita anymore. So like I said he was going to ruin his pack if he started anything with us.

“So, when did you come into power, Alpha Roy? I don’t remember you being in power when my father and I toured the packs.” Sawyer crossed his arms over his chest and looked as if he was peacocking. This would be interesting.

“It has been a while. I took over a few years ago. After I found my Luna.” Alpha Roy’s eyes flickered between his wolf’s and his human’s. I didn’t like that his wolf was that close to the surface.

“Ah. Well, how have things been? Sawyer and I have been trying to get around to the rest of the packs to see how everyone was doing after the defeat of the tyrant Wade.” Nolen stated as he grinned. The kid was too kind for his own good. Sometimes I wondered how he even became the alpha.

“Well. Some packs didn’t make it when the former Dolostone alpha came through. We were fortunate that we were so small because he didn’t even try to come to my pack.” Alpha Roy glanced over to where the girls were at the table. “I think it’s about time for me and my Luna to retire. It will be a long journey tomorrow.”
