“I can believe that.” Nolen laughed. The way he looked at my mate with admiration told me that he respected him.

These Alphas were younger than me, but they didn’t act as young as they were. But that was what happened when you became a leader of a pack at a young age. You grew up faster than the rest of us. And most of the time that responsibility made you grow up, while other times it didn’t.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Fin

The morning after the Luna ceremony was chaos as some of the pack leaders of the other packs left. I kept an eye on Alpha Roy since he wasn’t too happy that Nikita didn’t kill me. For the life of me, I couldn’t understand why he wanted me dead. Yes, I chose Kalila as my chosen, but I didn’t want her dead and the man that killed her was gone. She had gotten her justice along with my unborn pup.

Harlen and Bella were spending time with their daughter and son-in-law. The wolf wouldn’t come near me. I think I scared him.You think?Aloysius asked me with a wolfish grin. He was happier than he had ever been since we met Nikita. To be honest, so was I.

I watched her as she went from female to female, telling them bye. She stopped in front of Luna Adia and gave her a hug. I didn’t know if they had been close before she took the Luna position of the Shonkinite pack. But it pained me that the female had to go back to live with that mate of hers.

My heart was beating fast as I continued to watch Nikita make her rounds. She was everything that I could ask for, as my mate and Luna. There was nothing I wouldn’t do for her and my pack.

The sound of footsteps descending the steps brought my attention to the four that I had been hoping wouldn’t be leaving just yet. Nolen, Sawyer, Danika and Amora walked down the stairs, a few omegas, helping them with their luggage. Those four were the ultimate power houses. The way their auras cast around them told the others that they were not to be messed with.

You and Nikita are a powerhouse too. As you say. Did you not see what the Moon Goddess blessed your mate with?Aloysius growled in my head.

I know, but we are having to rebuild everything.

I was proud of Nolen. He had taken my training while rogue to heart and he was almost as strong as me. One of these days, I would show my pup that training. The group came up to me as Alpha Roy and his Luna left through the front doors. Which would be the last time they would be in my pack house.

Because according to my Luna, the crystals they were taking with them would be the last of what they would be getting. She was right, because he had gotten enough since technically she was the bridge for the packs. I just hoped that he didn’t turn on this alliance because I don’t know who in that pack was really loyal to him.

“Well, how’s this morning gone?” Nolen came up to me and stood beside me as I continued to survey the foyer. I wasn’t too sure if Alpha Roy would leave the pack so there were wolves set out to watch him leave the territory.

“It’s been good. I haven’t had any issues so far.” I chuckled as Nikita headed my way. She was so beautiful and if she wasn’t my mate I would be one jealous wolf.

“Alpha Fin, I don’t know how you did it, but you got yourself a beautiful mate and Luna.” Amora sounded out as she nudged Danika, who nodded with a smile.

“Yeah, I will never know what I had done to deserve her.” I smiled at her as she wrapped her arms around my waist. Nikita glanced up at me. She fisted my jacket that I had put on before I left her in the room to get dressed.

“What are you talking about?” I could hear the purr in her voice. She was still in heat and I was loving it. I didn’t want to not be covered by her. Hell I was about to tell everyone to see themselves out and take her upstairs to have her sheathing my hardening cock.

“You, my feisty Luna.” The smirk that graced her lips as I moved a piece of hair away from her face made my heart speed up.

“I think Alpha Fin and his Luna needs to get a room.” Alpha Sawyer’s voice said as a giggle escaped one of the Lunas beside me.

I turned my blue gaze from Nikita and on to Sawyer.

“I know what you are thinking, even though you are not part of my pack, Sawyer. And yes, I can keep up with her. Just because I’m older than her doesn’t mean I can’t.”

“Damn, Sawyer, he burned you!” Danika quipped as she laughed out loud. Her hands holding her swollen belly.

Harlen and Bella turned at the sound along with Sydnie. It was weird that she wasn’t in my head anymore. I missed the little pup. Sawyer nudged Danika, which just sent her into more fits of laughter.

“Sorry, Fin. I mean Alpha Fin. You know how they are.” Nolen quickly changed the way that he addressed me. I didn’t mind him just calling me Fin. When we met, I wasn’t even an Alpha.

“Your fine Alpha Nolen. I’m not offended.” I told him as I pulled Nikita close. She was warm. Warmer than usual. Glancing down, I noticed that her face was red and sweat was pouring off her. “Nikita, are you okay?”

Nikita started to nod before her eyes fluttered and she went limp in my arms. I glanced around and Harlen and Bella got to me before I lowered us to the floor. Nolen knelt down beside me as Amora and Danika backed away.

Doc! Come quick! Luna Nikita is unresponsive!I yelled through the pack mindlink. Which I shouldn’t have done. Since panic set in and the wolves in the house flooded the foyer. Warriors were making a barricade and others were moving wolves that weren’t part of our pack to the walls.

This had been protocol since before I was born. I didn’t even have to tell them what needed to be done. The way they did what was needed told anyone that was in this packhouse just how much training that they had.

My attention came back to my Luna. I couldn’t lose her now. She just became Luna, and I found her finally. If the Moon Goddess allowed her to die on me. I would rip her limb from limb. She couldn’t allow my fated to die after she had given her a blessing like that.
