I pushed my mind to make my fingers move. Fin now had my palm on his face. All I had to do was to move my pointer finger along his cheekbone. Why did this have to be so hard? What was the reason to keep me under?
Because they don’t know that you are immune to small doses of poison. That’s why.

I sighed and resigned to wait out the meds to be stopped. At least I could hear the people around me now. Maybe soon I will get more of my senses.
I knew it was night because the warmth from the sun which came from the window was no longer beating down on my body. Fin wasn’t with me, but I could hear his voice somewhere far enough away that his voice was muffled as he talked with Doc.
It was so much cooler in the room and I wondered if someone had turned the A/C on or if it was just because it was nighttime. The door slammed before a mumbled, “Fuck.” Came from Fin.
“My feisty Luna, I need you to wake up. Doc is weaning you off the meds. He thinks that most of the poison is out of your system. But not only that, I need to know that I wasn’t too late.” I had never heard him like this. Which made my heart hurt.
Sometime when I had fallen asleep I had started to be able to smell. The scent of the saline bag and the other meds that were in the other bag excited me. Because that meant I was coming out of this sleep.
Fin’s breath fanned the back of my hand. Which caused goose bumps to race up my arm. What I wouldn’t give to touch him. I could feel his hand underneath mine and in my mind, I gripped his hand.
“Nikita! Are you awake? Squeeze my hand if you can hear me!” I could feel his excitement through our bond and it made me excited because he was.
I gripped his hand again but couldn’t hold on to it long. It was like I didn’t have the strength.
“Doc, get in here! She’s waking up!”
The door to my room swung open and Doc was at my other side, checking vitals and opening my eyelids. When he did open my eyes I could see Doc and Fin, but like with my hand, I couldn’t hold them open.
“She’s reacting to the light. But it seems like her body can’t move at the moment. I’ll stop the coma inducing meds right now and we will see if that will help speed this movement for her now.” Doc continued to speak to Fin and checking me out. “It’s okay Luna. We are going to get you out of this bed.”
Doc squeezed my shoulder and left my side. Fin continued to kiss the back of my hand. The sparks erupted with each kiss. I loved it because I wanted to be with him again.
I had been awake for the last couple of hours. Fin was again sleeping at the side of my bed. His head laying next to my head. It was amazing to be able to see him again. As much as I wanted to be selfish, I let him sleep. I didn’t want him to lose any sleep, even though he probably already did.
My door slowly opened and Bella locked eyes with me and stifled her gasp when I brought my finger to my lips. Bella smiled and nodded before sitting down on the other side of me. She grabbed my hand and silently sobbed.
I haven’t told him yet.
He is going to be ecstatic and I don’t think I want to be in here when you wake him up.
I smiled and nodded. Bella stood up and left the room. Her silhouette in the door’s window. Knowing her, she was talking to Harlen, letting him know I was awake and not to come in at the moment. I turned my attention to Fin, who was still asleep.
Slowly, I turned on my side and ran my fingers through Fin’s hair. It was coarse, like he hadn’t been showering regularly. Which was not like him to do. He stirred under my hand and when his eyes met mine Fin stilled.
Hey.I used my mindlink to talk with him since I was unsure if I could actually talk since I had been asleep for so long.
Are you okay? Do you need some water?
Yes, please. I’m not sure how my voice will sound.
Fin stood and pulled me to a sitting position before he crashed his lips to mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pushed my tongue into his. He moaned as he pulled me flush against him. I missed this. When Fin pulled away, the whimper that left me made him chuckle.
“Nikita. Let me get you some water. I’m going to get Doc and have him check you out again.”
Okay. Don’t take too long. I need you.
“Don’t worry. I’m not going to leave you now.” Fin chuckled again and kissed the top of my head. He let me go and went out the door leaving it ajar.
I sat here waiting for them to get back. When Bella came back in the room she grinned at me as she sat down. Bella patted my hand as we waited for Fin to return with Doc.
“So, he is very excited that you are awake.”
