Then I will fight the strongest one. Once I win they will either leave or submit.Nikita had been itching for a fight and she wasn’t too interested in our training since she got her mother’s journal. Which I understood because if I didn’t know my mother I would try my best to find anything to help me learn what she was like. And I wasn’t going to keep her from being able to do that.

Nikita, we need to be strategic about this. We don’t need to rush into this; we still don’t know what Alpha Roy is planning.I cautioned her as we slowed and pressed through the crowd of warriors that were holding the line at the territory border. Wolves parted for us to get to the front as they bowed their heads.

Nikita growled low in our link. I didn’t understand why she was being so moody. She wasn’t due to have her heat for another month. And I didn’t sense that she was pregnant. I wonder if she read something in her mother’s book that she didn’t like.

Alpha, Luna, they should be getting here shortly. I’ve been informed that Alpha Roy is with them this time.

Thank you Hank. The wolf nodded and backed into the group of wolves behind us.

Nikita, don’t fight Alpha Roy. We don’t have enough information from the informant right now.I nuzzled into her neck with my muzzle.

But if I kill him now we can have the informant return home and increase our pack at the same time.Nikita snarled in my head. The alpha part of her was starting to rise the more that Olli taught her. Each of her lessons she was surpassing like she had always known the shit he was showing her.

I’m not going to tell you again but I’m telling you now. You let me handle Alpha Roy. He is here for a reason and I’m not going to let you get yourself hurt because you want to rush in there without knowing.I growled back at her.We don’t need him to know that you are an alpha if he doesn’t already.

Nikita gave me a side eye before she snorted and backed up. Her head in line with my shoulder. I was glad that she decided to yield. I didn’t know if I would be able to correct her in front of most of the pack.

The sounds of heavy feet came through the brush before Alpha Roy emerged. His Beta and Gamma flanking him with more wolves behind them. I glanced over mine,No one attacks unless he starts it.

Yes Alpha!Their voices as one inside my head.

I turned back to the wolves that were coming towards me and my pack. Shifting so that I could speak to everyone involved. I waited for Alpha Roy to shift as well. When he didn’t and his Beta did I glanced over at Nikita. If he tried anything to harm her I would shift in a blink of an eye and tear him limb from limb. Fuck what I told Nikita.

“Alpha Fin, we would like to come to a truce and would like to talk about getting our wolves back from you as well.”

“The only way I will make a truce is to know who poisoned my Luna and then a public apology for blaming our pack for Delta Kyle’s death.” I growled not being able to hold my anger back from the memory of the poison.

“Alpha Fin, I don’t know who poisoned your Luna but you need to look into some of the other packs that were there.” The Beta was treating this like he was talking to a child that was having a tantrum.

“I’ve already interrogated them and have found them telling me the truth. The only one that left before things started to happen was you and your Alpha.”

The Gamma beside him snarled at me showing his teeth. He didn’t faze me, he didn’t have the skill set to even come close to beating me. I held Alpha Roy’s gaze as the Beta glanced over at his alpha to give him more information.

“We are not at fault, Alpha Fin. I am more than happy to be interrogated as long as the wolves starving in your dungeons can come home.” He spread open his arms in a sign of submission.

They took the wrong intel. I was hoping that the informant would be able to get something in so that I knew what I could and couldn’t tell them. Smirking, I took a step forward and Nikita came with me. I held out my hand stopping her. Her tongue came out and ran across my palm.

“I think you are. Because I don’t know who you are getting your intel from but we are not like a normal pack. We don’t starve the wolves in the cells. They get three meals a day, the only thing they don’t get is yard play. Can’t have them running back to you right?” I widened my stance and crossed my arms. I had it in good faith that our informant never showed them who he was. But used another one of the pack to pass on the information.

The Beta glanced over at Nikita before he turned his gaze to his alpha again. He was getting nervous and I had a feeling that he wasn’t in on anything that his alpha was. I had noticed that the Luna of their pack had hugged her. But there were no punctures. Staring at the alpha from Shonkinite, I realized that the reason he didn’t shift to talk to me himself, was that he knew I would be able to tell he was lying if I could see his face.

“If you can’t do what is asked for this truce you can make your way back to your pack. I’d hate to have your Luna hurt when I took your life.”

Alpha Roy snarled and showed his fangs, his ears plastered on his head. The Beta came in front of us to hold his alpha back. He knew that I would win. I had the experience and strength.

“Fine we will leave and will be back to make a truce.” He shifted and pushed his alpha back to keep him from attacking me. By the way he acted he was the person trying to keep the peace, which made him the smart one because even though we didn’t have as many wolves we still could take them.

As fast as they had appeared they left. I had thought that they would want to try to fight and it could’ve come down to that. But we will see if they actually want a truce and if they will tell me the truth. I turned to my pack and dispersed them. Nikita still had her eyes focused on the brush.

I shifted back to my wolf and nudged Nikita.

Come my feisty Luna. They are long gone.

I don’t like that they came all this way and didn’t attack. The tone of her voice would’ve put me on edge if I didn’t know for sure that they were gone.

They were probably trying to find out how many wolves we have here. Which was why I didn’t have all of our warriors come to the border.

I knew you weren’t all brawn.Nikita chuckled as she turned with me and ran to the center of the pack. I needed to make sure that we were prepared for whatever that Alpha Roy thought of next. Besides, she didn’t know how smart I actually was. Even though I was the bulkiest wolf on this territory.
