“I told you when you were in heat that this could happen. You didn’t care.” Fin’s hand came up to my check and I nuzzled into his palm.
“I didn’t care then. We didn’t have anything to worry about but Roy. But now we don’t know what is happening.” Fin searched my eyes before he pulled me in close to him.
“It will be okay Nikita. We won’t tell anyone until we have to. But I do want you to go to that secret room at Obsidian. I can’t lose you.” His arms tightened around me. I felt the sorrow and grief through our bond.
This was the reason I didn’t want something like this to happen after all this happened. I couldn’t defend myself in my wolf form but I would make sure that I would be able to in my human form. “Fin we need to have someone take some weapons to the safe room. I don’t want to be there without anything to protect me.”
“Okay, just because if I tell you no you will hurt me.” Fin chuckled as he pulled away and crashed his lips to mine. The love and passion that he put into that kiss had me wet.
I pulled away from him and took a step back to take a breath. “Fin we need to be practical about this. We don’t need to have anyone with me so that the safe room stays between me, you and Olli.”
“I have to veto that. You need to have at least someone in there with you. I’ll give you weapons but you will also get another body with you in that room. But I won’t leave you in there by yourself.”
Deciding to let him have his way this time.
Doc had me on the table with my shirt up and waiting for the ultrasound to be done. Fin was sitting beside me watching him move the wand around on my flat stomach. The gel was warm at least. I continued to stare at the black and white monitor trying to figure out what Doc was trying to find.
The sound of a heartbeat filled the room and my heart started to race with it.
“Ah! There it is! The pup was hiding.”
It didn’t look like any blob that I had seen before. The pup looked more developed than what I had expected. Was Doc right about me being further along? I glanced over to Doc and the grin on his face allowed me to calm my heart. My attention went to Fin and I realized that he had tears in his eyes.
My hand went to his face bringing his eyes to me. Fin smiled at me before placing a kiss on my forehead. This pup made him happy as he returned his gaze to the screen. Losing them all those years ago really messed with him. Did he get to see his other child before his uncle killed his chosen?
“Doc, is it old enough to find out what the pup is?” Fin’s voice held a certain longing.
“It’s not quite time yet to know the gender of the pup alpha. But this one is strong. It has a nice strong heartbeat and the way it is moving around in there it’s going to be healthy.” Doc printed out a few ultrasound pictures and then took the wand off my stomach. He wiped my stomach with a warm wet cloth and then handed me a dry one with a smile.
“Doc, with everything going on we need this to remain between the three of us. Until this is over.” Fin’s hands fisted on the sheets under me.
“I understand Alpha but the other wolves will find out sooner rather than later. It might be a good idea to let some of them know. Ones that you are sure are loyal to you.” Doc answered him. I had never known another wolf other than Harlen and Bella to tell him what he didn’t want to hear.
Fin nodded and helped me up. It wasn’t that I needed the help, it was just letting Fin do something with himself. I pulled my shirt down and stood from the bed. Fin continued to stare at the black and white picture of our pup. He glanced up at me and the corner of his lip lifted and Fin held out his hand to me.
Taking his hand he pulled me in close as Doc left the room to give us a moment together. I wrapped my arms around him as he squeezed me to him. He made me feel so much better about this than I was. I didn’t know if I would be a good mom but with him here I would be anything that I needed for this pup.
“Nikita, I swear on my soul that I will not let anything happen to you. If it was your life versus my own I would lay down mine so that you could live.” His hard whisper tingled my neck as he held me.
“Fin, I will need you to be here with me. You can’t leave me here to raise this pup by myself.” Fin pulled me to arm’s length and nodded.
“I will do whatever you want me to do, my feisty wolf.”
“Then don’t die. Because if you did I don’t think I would be able to survive the bond breaking.” His eyes searched mine as we stood there and then he crashed his lips to mine.
“Bella is sure to want to talk with you. I think we will have a small dinner with them and Tobey. What do you think?”
“I think that is a wonderful plan. I think this pup is hungry.” I rubbed my stomach bringing Fin’s eyes down further than my flat belly.
“Well if his mother gets hungry for something later tonight than I’m sure daddy can help her.” His hand went into my hand and softly pulled my hair to bring my head back.
“Fin… I think that hunger is what made our pup. Besides, why do you think the pup will be a boy? You don’t think you will have a girl?” The corner of my lips pulled up as he gripped my hair tighter.
“The pup could be a boy or a girl. I could not care. All I care about is that he or she is healthy along with its mother.” Fin brushed his lips over my neck as his right hand roamed my body.
“Fin, we are still in the room. We can’t… They will hear and smell.” The way my words came out as moans excited him. I could feel his cock pressing against my stomach.
