“We will have to make this dinner short.” I chuckled as he released my hair and grabbed my hand.
We exited the room and strolled past the wolves that worked in the pack hospital. Each one bowed their heads as we went by. Just knowing that they could smell the arousal between us both had me on edge. I wasn’t embarrassed to say the truth. I didn’t want them to think something happened in there.
By the time we made it to the packhouse the kitchen staff were running around the lower level. They didn’t normally do that unless they were having to make two different meals. I glanced over to Fin but he seemed to not notice them.
“Fin, I thought we were going to have a small dinner. Like one that we make on our floor.” I questioned him and the corner of his lip lifted in that sexy half smile that said he was up to no good.
“We were but I want to get dinner over quickly so that we can have our time together.” Fin pressed his hand against my lower back. The warmth that it radiated there made me warm all over.
Fin you need to watch what you say. There are pups running around here!I scolded him as we continued up to our floor.

I rolled my eyes. I swear he couldn’t act more his age at all. You would never believe that he was thirty-five almost thirty-six. And the fact that we were having a pup I didn’t know how he would even act around it.
Fin can I ask you a question?I didn’t know if he would answer it since he always seemed to be distraught speaking of her and their pup.
Of course what is it?He was so lighthearted right now I didn’t really want to bring him down. But I needed to know, no I wanted to know if he had found out what his pup before me was before the murder.

Fin froze for a moment and then sighed.No I didn’t. She was killed before I was even able to see it on the ultrasound machine. I’ve been wondering what it would have looked like.
He turned to me as we reached the door to our suite and pulled me close to him. This was the reason I didn’t want to ask him but curiosity always won.
I’m sorry Fin I shouldn’t have asked.

Chapter Forty-Two

It has been a couple weeks since we went to see the pup on the ultrasound. Later today we were going to see what the gender was. I had never been as excited about something like this. This wasn’t something I ever thought would happen to me. I sat in the living room this morning reading my mother’s journal.
I was getting closer to my birth. Come to think about it, I didn’t really know when I was born. No one could actually tell me when the day was. So we just celebrated it during the month. But it started to make me wonder why my parents at the Shonkinite pack didn’t know the day. Which now I know why. They weren’t really related to me.
It’s getting closer to my due date and I can feel our little warrior moving in my stomach. The pains are getting closer together. So I’m sure that it might be tonight when I have her. Cain has been gone for a few weeks. He told me that when he left that he would be back by the time our girl was born.
Alpha Christian has been here multiple times to get us to conform with his plan to blend the packs. I’ve been trying to keep my contractions a secret. I’m sure that he has someone here in our pack watching. I can’t be parted with my girl.
Well, my water just broke. I’m going to leave this entry right here and lock myself in the bathroom.

It has been a week since my little warrior has come into the world with her bright green eyes and dark black hair. She was beautiful. No one knew that she was here. I had kept the other pack wolves away from our floor. Cain was keeping them away too.
He was finally happy. Every time that he came to us he would pick her up and carry her around. She loved him. My little warrior was strong. The only thing that worried me was when Alpha Christian came to the pack again. And I knew he would be here. I’m surprised that he hasn’t been here sooner.
Well she is crying.

I worried about reading further. Part of me didn’t want to know what happened. Who was the one that was telling the other pack what was going on? As much as I didn’t want to find out I needed to. I needed to know why I was given away.
They took her! It has been too long since I held her. Alpha Christian told Cain that if we gave her to him that we could keep the pack. I was begging Cain not to take it. I would rather live as a rogue with my baby and her father than to give up my girl.
But gave her away like it was nothing. Like he didn’t love the fact that she was his. I didn’t want anything to do with him.
