I quickly went on the internet and searched for the meaning of the brown heart, even though it didn’t exactly mean that she loved me; she meant that she feltcomfortedby my presence and that shetrustedme which meant that shelikedme big time.
A huge smile grew on my face as I sent her back the brown hearts mixed with the blue and white a bit way too much. She saw the message and reacted to one of the hearts with a thumbs up.
It kind of hurt, but she did still get my heart in the end.
I was tempted to text back how badly I couldn’t wait to see her tomorrow, but I realized that my behavior was kind of overbearing and probably insanity at the most, but fucking hell.
Avery managed to drive me absolutely crazy and I didn’t know how to handle it. I was pining away for the girl and it was both exciting and scary at the same time.
I sent my last text and decided to hit the sack early so that I could be on my best performance tomorrow.
Nate: I’ll pick you up, be ready by ten. Goodnight.
Avery:Goodnight, Nate.
“The amusement park?” Avery asked with a huge smile on her face as I took off the mask covering her eyes, and Niel giggled as he jumped up and down in my arms.
“Yeah, I hope you like it?” I asked hesitantly and she laughed softly as she turned around, taking in the scenery and the many rides, including people that were all around us. “If it’s too loud for you guys, or if you don’t like it, we can go somewhere else?”
“No, it’s great. There’s limited rides for us though.”
“You don’t have to worry about that, fun is guaranteed anyway.” I smiled as I lifted Niel over my shoulder, he immediately placed his hands on my head and I kept him balanced by holding onto his legs.
“You must really know a lot about fun,” she teased and I looked at her with a tiny smirk on my face as I shrugged.
“I grew up as a carefree kid, so of course I know a lot about fun. Anytypeof fun.” I winked as we stood in front of the headband section in the retail store. “Which ears do you want, Niel?” I gently tugged on his leg and he pointed to the green ones.
“The frog!” he squealed and Avery picked up the frog eyes and placed it on his head, smiling as he cheered happily. If there was anything I had noticed about Avery was that she loved Niel more than anything.
Just seeing him always guaranteed a smile from her, and she was so gentle with him. I didn’t know much about mothers because I was raised by my nana. And even though she didn’t give birth to me, I knew she cared for me as if I were her own child, and because of the love she gave me; I knew Avery loved her son unconditionally.
I was happy for him that he had his mother in his life, and she was the absolute best I had ever seen in my life.She’s a great mother.
“Which headband would you like?” Her soft voice brought me out of my thoughts and I noticed she had put on the bunny ears and I wished I wasn’t thinking of her the way I was with Niel right on my shoulders.
But if she was mine, Niel would be getting a sibling soon.
Fuck, I could see her totally sporting a full sexy bunny outfit for me, the paws would be a soft pink just like the ears are, and she would wear that gorgeous blush she always gets when I would call hermommy.
“I want the tiara.” I swallowed and she giggled as she picked up the pink tiara and placed it on my head. She took her phone outand I smiled as I looked at her swiping across her phone. “I hope you’re not going to post this on your story?”
“Oh no, this is going into my photo album,” she laughed as she stood close to me and angled the camera so that we could all come out on the picture. Niel gave his signature toothy grin and she raised her fingers in a peace sign, I couldn’t figure out which pose to do so I decided to copy Niel.
After taking a few pictures and paying for the headbands, we finally climbed a few child and adult-friendly rides. It was embarrassing to admit that I was a bit too big for some, but I still had fun watching Avery and Niel scream their lungs out as they enjoyed some of the rides I wasn’t able to get on.
Of course, I wouldn’t just let them have all the fun alone. I suggested a few games that required aim and strength against Avery. Even though Niel cheered with all his might for his mother, I still won most of the games but I did give them the rewards because I had no use for huge plush teddy bears in my house.
We decided to end the fun day with a simple picnic in the park, and Niel was leaning against the polar bear plush as he scrolled away on his tablet while Avery sat in front of me, slightly leaning against her panda bear.
I was feeling kind of jealous because I was bigger than that plush bear and I was pretty sure I was just as comfortable.
“Ooh, you two look like twins,” she grumbled as she swiped through the pictures while slowly taking small bites from her strawberry. “I’m jealous!”
I leaned in closer to look at the pictures she was squealing and mumbling about, also because I wanted to be closer to her. Thedistance was a bit too far for me and I enjoyed having her soft scent around me.
“You’ll make Brian jealous if he hears you say I look like Niel,” I murmured as I placed my cheek on her shoulder and her breathing halted for a second. “One might say we’re family, our smiles look similar,” I commented as I swiped across the pictures on her phone and she stiffened for a second.
“No, I look like Papa,” Niel said as he looked up from his tablet and I sat up straight, removing my head from her shoulder as I looked at Niel. “I’m Papa’s twin.”
