I nod as he pulls away. He leaves the room, giving Nox a quirked brow as he closes the door behind him. My eyes find Nox’s when the door latches shut. “So you’re just going to invite yourself over to spend the night now?”

Nox’s cheeks tint pink. “I can have him take me home if you don’t want me to stay.”

I grin, shaking my head. “No. I want you to stay.”

Nox’s eyes widen a bit and it takes a moment before his lips curve up into a smile. His chest puffs out a bit. “Good, because I wasn’t actually planning on going anywhere.”

I huff out a laugh and walk over to my dresser. Pulling out a pair of pajamas, I unbutton my jeans and start pushing them down my hips. Nox makes a choking sound. Over my shoulder, I see him with his back to me and roll my eyes. It’s not like he hasn’t seen it before, plus the fact he’s had a camera in my room for the last week, so there’s no telling what he’s seen on that. Sloane and Zane come over often now that Sandy is living in the sorority house. When I’m dressed, I skip over to him and grab his hand.

His back tenses until he looks over at me and relaxes. “Come on. I’m tired and I’ve got more studying to do tomorrow.” Leaving him at the side of my bed, I crawl in and leave a space for him, knowing he won’t want to sleep in Sandy’s bed since he never does.

When I look over at him, he’s already stripping down to his boxer briefs. The muscles of his thighs and arms show how strong he is. My mind goes back to both of the times I’ve seen him break a man’s neckwith his bare hands. There’s a part of me that want’s to lick him and declare that he’s all mine no matter what he says. I’d lock all four of these men in a basement and keep them to myself before I ever let them get away from me.

“What are you thinking about that has you smiling so much?” Nox asks as he climbs into the bed with me.

I shrug one shoulder as he pulls the blanket up around our shoulders. “Just thinking about doing something Zane would approve of.”

His eyes narrow at that and I shrug, not giving him any more idea of what’s going through my mind. The scent of his laundry soup wafts around us like an intoxicating blanket. I don’t even realize I’m closing the distance between us until his arms wrap around me. Looking up into his eyes, I find him watching me with a strange expression on his face. His head dips, and he presses a firm kiss to my lips.

I gasp at the sudden advance, and he takes advantage of my parted lips to deepen the kiss. One moment we’re just kissing, and the next he’s on top of me, his hand trailing over my stomach and up toward my ribs. When he reaches to just under my breasts, he slows the kiss and his finger tips dig into my skin.

He pulls away and presses his forehead into my shoulder, just sitting there for a moment before he pulls away completely and sits up on his knees between my legs. I give him a little pout because I was very excited about where things were going.

“Don’t give me that look,” he says with a small smile.

I frown. “Is something wrong?” Maybe my breath stinks or he decided he just doesn’t like me all that much.

He shakes his head quickly. “No, no, nothing is wrong. I just really like you and I want to take things slow. I want the first time we’re together to be special.”

My lips part at that. “But it is special because it’s you,” I say, furrowing my brows.

He grins and leans down to press a soft kiss to my lips before pulling away again. “That’s not what I meant. I want our first time to be more than an after-study session hookup in your tiny dorm room bed.”

I shrug. “Sloane took my virginity in a dusty office. So, like that?”

I mean, if the location is the issue, we can always go somewhere else. I glance up to see a horrified expression on his face. “A dusty office?” His nose flares and he shakes his head. “Don’t answer that. That’s not what I meant. I just want to get to know you better and make our first time together a little more romantic.”

I nod my head, understanding what he’s saying now. “Okay.” I smile up at him.

He runs his hands up and down my calves a couple times before lying down next to me again. He pulls me in against his chest and I relax into him instantly. Sure, he’s right. I barely know him and the others even after a whole year. They’re still keeping secrets and I need to figure out what they’re hiding. At this point, I’m so invested it would have to be really bad to be a deal breaker.

Nox’s breaths even out as he falls asleep, tucking his nose into the space between my chin and my shoulder. I let his deep, even breaths lure me to sleep as well.

Cain

Viv has been avoiding the house lately, and I don’t like it. Exams start today and school will be out for the summer after that. It’s early, so nobody is awake as I stand with my back against the wall of the hallway. I’ve only had to stand here for a few minutes before the door creeks open and Nox attempts to sneak in. Why he feels the need to sneak into his own house, I have no idea.

He turns away from the door after locking it behind himself, still wearing yesterday’s rumpled clothes, and freezes when he sees me. I flick the overhead light on all overly dramatic as I just stare at him with one quirked brow. He doesn’t say anything to fill the silence or counter the knowing look in my eye. One thing I hate about Nox is his ability to keep silent in awkward situations. If it was one of the other guys, they would have already started rambling to fill the silence.

“Cain,” Nox says simply, but I consider that a win since he spoke first.

“We need to talk about Viv,” I tell him again.

He sighs and toes off his shoes. Crossing his arms over his chest, he gives me an expectant look. I decide to just give him this one. “We need to keep her close this summer. She’s a walking target.”

Nox smirks. “She’s moving into the upstairs apartment. I finally got her to agree last night.”

My brows lower. “Finally? How long have you been trying to convince her?”
