His deep voice punched me in the gut, but I shifted my weight and let go of his shoulders. Looking into beautiful deep green eyes. “You about knocked me down.” I chuckled.

“For that, I apologize.” His words were clipped, and he stepped around me, going to talk to the professor.

His blond hair reminded me of corn-silk and I wondered what it would feel like between my fingers. His small stature made me think he was an omega from another pack. Pink cheeks, a few freckles.

What’s that smell?I scented the air and felt Julius tug my arm.

I shook my head and motioned for Julius to come with as he continued telling me all about Flynn. I heard what he said, but my mind was back at the classroom, thinking about the most amazing green eyes I’d ever seen.

“Are you paying attention?” Julius punched me in the shoulder.

“No.” I shook my head. “Who was that punk?”

“Don’t know.” He shrugged. “Never seen him before.”

“Guys! Let’s go!” Evan jogged by, slapping our asses. “Coach is in a mood.”

“Great. That means we really get a workout before the game.”

“Right? Instead of a warmup.” Julius sighed.”

We entered the locker room in time to hear our coach screaming about a few of the Grimclaw’s and their grades.

Great. We get fucked because they’re too dumb to do what’s needed.

May as well get suited up and ready to rumble.

Nolan

Damn, that guy was built!

I rubbed my hand against my chest where it connected with his firm body. His blue eyes held something Simon’s menacing green ones didn’t.

Compassion.

It’s not like I planned to run into anyone.

I sighed and pushed him from my mind before walking over to Professor Aarons. Nerves rattled me in my bones, and I embraced my inner nerd. I loved learning new things and being a T.A. became my secret way to sit in on classes and learn more.

My friend Charity told me about this class. Her brother Julius was in it, and she said he complained about the disorganized professor all the time.

Professor Aarons looked up from his makeshift desk. “Nolan! Welcome.”

“How?” I stopped and stared at him in confusion.

“Charity told me you’d be by.” He gave me a warm smile and I couldn’t resist smiling back. His hair and face shape reminded me of the guy I ran into, but the professor wasn’t as built.

“We have a pack run tonight, and we have supper after. Why not join us?”

“Um.” I fidgeted from foot to foot. “I’m in the Grimclaw pack.”

He threw his head back in laughter. “So you’re not allowed to do anything outside of them?”

“Oh.” I chuckled nervously. “No. I can.”

“Great.” He motioned to the front row of seats. “So, would you like to join in the run tonight?”

I smiled at him as I took a seat. “Yeah. I’d like that.”
