My only concern was finding Pietra, nothing was more important to me than her.

Chapter fifty

We landed at a private airport closest to the address where they believed Andrei was with Pietra. When we got there, the local leader was already waiting for us with soldiers and cars.

“Sir.” Ivo Asimov, the local boss, approached me as soon as I got off the plane.

“I imagine Sergei spoke to you.”

“Yes, I came here as soon as the counselor called me. He's on his way and I imagine we won't wait for him.”

“At this moment, every minute matters.”

“The Belluccis!” He got scared and moved his hand towards the gun, but I grabbed his arm before he pointed it at Pietra's family.

“They are with me.”

“Then, it's true that you chose an Italian woman?”

“Yes.”

“I hope you made the right decision.”

“I have no doubts. Let's go now!” I moved my head indicating the cars and we distributed ourselves in them. Heading to where Pietra was.

Those hours since she was kidnapped were without a doubt the worst I've ever experienced. I had never been attached to anything or anyone and I had no idea how devastating the loss could be.

“Faster!” I ordered the driver.

I ran my hand across my sweaty forehead and pushed my blond hair back. The overwhelming restlessness in my chest was leaving me breathless and increasingly irritable.

I heard the tire screeching as we stopped in front of the warehouse. It was an abandoned place, with graffiti-covered walls and broken glass, but there were soldiers protecting it, which led me even more to believe that Pietra could be there.

As soon as they noticed the cars, they started shooting at us, luckily the vehicles were armored.

I climbed over the man sitting next to me and opened the door on the other side, using the vehicle as a shield to protect myself from the gunfire. I took out my gun and aimed at the oneon top of the roof, hitting him in the head and making him roll until he fell to the ground.

I was surprised when one of the Bellucci, the first to want to kill me, stopped next to me and placed his gun on the roof of the car.

“Let me kill them. We'll cover you to go after my niece.”

I looked at him and nodded. It wasn’t in my nature to thank others, but my silent movement was enough.

I rolled to the side, leaving the protection of the SUV and dodged some shots while realizing that one by one, the soldiers protecting the place were shot down and the men with me also advanced.

I approached a side door of the warehouse and kicked it open, shattering the wood in my fury.

A soldier came at me, and I dodged to grab the barrel of his gun. The shot hit the wall and I kicked him in the stomach, making him drop the gun. I shot him in the chest and pushed his lifeless body to the ground.

I entered a space where there were some armchairs and an old television. Andrei was sitting in one of them, as were two other soldiers. He stood up and looked at me with a smile as if he wasn't surprised by my presence.

“I was waiting for you to arrive.”

“What did you do with her?” I gritted my teeth.

“I think I had a lot of fun.”

“If you...”
