“I’ve seen packs form within hours of meeting their omega,” Rhett chimed in. “And when an omega is in heat? It can happen even faster. It’s biology’s way of helping us find a compatible mate.”

Jude shot me a knowing look. “I don’t think it’s the omega or instincts part you’re struggling with, though, am I right?”

I sighed softly. “I can’t shut off the part of my brain that’s telling me it takes months, or even years, to find the person you’re meant to be with.”

“That’s beta thinking,” Jude corrected gently. “And I get it—I dated people for months, too, but when I met Rhett and this pack, we clicked instantly.”

“Damn right we did,” Rhett agreed, giving Jude a lingering kiss that left the beta flushed and the alpha purring.

“This is all stuff you would’ve learned in omega classes,” Crew pointed out. “Who knew those mandatory bullshit courses actually helped?”

Kellan snorted but nodded. “Truth, bro.”

“Calla hated them,” I replied, remembering how she’d complained it was all stuff she knew. Then again, she’d grown up with an omega mother and three alpha fathers. Her parents’ pack was healthy and thriving.

“Do you want to take the courses?” Rhett offered. “We can certainly arrange?—”

“I don’t think so,” I cut in. “Not now. If I have questions, I can ask Calla and Elizabeth.”

“And us,” Crew added. “Rhett and I grew up with omegas in our family packs.”

I laughed a little. “Your mom seemed pretty appalled that you didn’t have marshmallows for the hot chocolate.”

Crew winced. “Yeah, we’re definitely going to have to stock up on omega essentials.”

Rhett glanced at the snacks. “That may be the last of the sweets. Sorry, love. We don’t eat a lot of sugary things.”

I raked my gaze over them as a whole. There probably wasn’t a spare ounce of fat to be found between them. They looked like they worked out every single day, probably for multiple hours.

Which meant there was probably a room in here with gym equipment.

Visions of four sweaty, glistening bodies danced across my brain. My cheeks heated as my breaths quickened.

Kellan let out a rumbling laugh. “What are you thinking that has you smelling like that, omega?”

I squirmed on Crew’s lap, not missing his thickening erection. “Nothing,” I mumbled, ducking my head into Crew’s chest.

“Oh, no, you don’t,” Crew teased, his hands drifting to my sides and digging in as he tickled me.

It had been years since I’d been tickled, and even longer since I’d laughed until I was breathless. I squirmed and thrashed as Crew and Kellan attacked. When Rhett joined in to tickle my neck, I begged for mercy.

My scent well and truly saturated the space, but it wasn’t overpowering and cloying like when I was in heat. It smelled like I’d walked into a confectioner’s bakery.

Crew nuzzled my throat. “You’re happy,” he explained. “That’s what you’re smelling.”

“Fuck, I love that scent,” Kellan groaned, rubbing his very obviously hard cock through his pants.

Crew started kissing under my jaw, and I tipped my head back as Rhett and Kellan let out rumbling growls of appreciation.

“Nope.” Jude muscled his way in to pull me free of the alphas. “You three need to chill out. Tonight is about us getting to know each other and making sure Hazel’s comfortable.”

I appreciated what he was trying to do, but I was pretty sure I’d have been just as comfortable if someone had slipped their hands inside my panties and?—

“Not helping,” Jude told me with a laugh. He spun us around to the other side of the sectional. Trapping me on his lap, he glared at the three alphas. “We’re watching a movie and ordering dinner. No driving the pretty omega crazy with pheromones.”

“Remind me why we have a beta in this pack?” Kellan groused.

Rhett hurled a pillow at Kellan’s head.
