I was taken aback, but I didn’t let it show. I maintained my composure, putting my business mask into place.

“My operations are completely legitimate, but you will have my full cooperation for the search,” I responded, hiding my growing unease as much as possible.

“Here’s the warrant authorizing this search, Mr. Kaligaris. We must follow due process.”

Taking the document, I scanned it briefly. “I see. Well, as I said, you have my full cooperation. I believe in the rule of law.”

The officer nodded. “Thank you for your understanding. We aim to be thorough but efficient.”

“Of course,” I replied. “I trust this will be conducted fairly. I assure you, my operations are lawful.”

He looked at me squarely, his jawline set with resolve. “Of course, Mr. Kaligaris. Let’s proceed.”

As the police combed through the warehouse, I watched, confident yet anxious. The warehouse was large, storing various goods, and I was certain nothing incriminating was housed there. However, my confidence was shattered when one of the officers discovered something with a shout.

“Sir, you need to see this,” another officer called out. A lieutenant walked over to him and knelt down. I moved just far enough to keep them in view.

Behind a stack of crates, a collection of firearms was neatly arranged in a thick cardboard box. My heart sank at the sight. I had no knowledge of these weapons being in my warehouse. They’d been moved here without my approval. It was clear this was a setup, but there was nothing to be said for the moment.

I’d let my team of lawyers handle it from here on out.

As I watched the police continue their search, I knew this was just the beginning of a much larger battle. This incident wasn’t just an attack on my business; it was a direct challenge to my authority and position.

This was a declaration of war, and I was ready to defend my empire, my future with Maci, and everything I had worked so hard to build. The game was on, and I was not one to back down from a fight.

I needed to get back home.

Immediately.

As soon as I walked through the doors of my mansion, Andreas and Maci were waiting for me. I beckoned them to follow me into the sitting room, where there was a glass of bourbon already waiting for me.

I glanced at Maci knowingly and she smiled back at me.

Such a fucking good girl.

I grabbed it and swallowed it down, needing to settle my mind. One drink would do the trick. Maci moved to fill it again for me, but I waved her away, knowing I needed to keep a level head.

“The warehouse was raided by the police today,” I began.

Maci’s eyes widened in shock and the image of her on her knees sucking my cock flashed before my eyes.

“Raided? But why?” she asked, her curiosity sexy as fuck.

“They found a stockpile of weapons,” I continued, the words tasting bitter. “Weapons I knew nothing about. Weapons I didn’t authorize to be in my warehouse.”

Andreas’ expression turned grim. “Do you think this is connected to the Secretary-General?”

“It has to be,” I replied. “It’s too coincidental. This is his move against me.”

Maci stepped closer, her concern evident. “What are you going to do?”

I looked at them, determination settling in. “We fight back. We need to find out who’s behind this and clear my name. This is not just an attack on my business; it’s an attack on us.”

Andreas nodded, “I’ll start digging, see what I can uncover. We won’t let them get away with this.”

Maci cleared her throat. “You promised you’d let me handle the Secretary-General,” she said, her voice steady but resolute.
