His eyes meet mine. “I know.”

Did he just admit to checking out my ass for years?

“Get moving, Rosie,” he orders.

“You sure are bossy,” I huff out.

I jog up the stairs, slip off my sweats and head straight to my closet. I knew exactly what I was wearing tonight.

The fire was going in the back yard, and the guys were huddled around the grill. My brother and Bekka were on the way and nerves crept up my spine. I hadn’t told him about the break up yet and when he saw my lip he was most likely going to lose his shit. He’s very sensitive to violence against women. Especially after Bekka’s situation.

“Stop worrying.” Camille appears next to me. “Everything is going to be fine.”

I lean my head on her shoulder. “I know, you just know how he is.”

“He loves you, Till. We all do and we’re all angry for what he did.” She wraps an arm around me.

“Thanks Cami.”

Elle’s laugh echos around the yard as Easton tosses her over his shoulder. I swear those two couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Their road has been just about as smooth as mine and Greyson’s. A lot of lost time and regrets. I’m just not sure if our road leads to the same place as theirs.

Jace and Rex join the circle, plopping down in the lawn chairs around the fire.

“Hey trouble maker.” Rex smirks, then tugs at my waist.

“Hey.” I toss my arm over his shoulder as I fall onto his lap.

I’d known Rex since grade school. He was like the perfect male best friend. Protective, but also the one to be a partner in crime when needed. We’d broken the rules together many times.

“I hear you’re back on the market?” He lifts a brow.

I glance over at Jace, and he shrugs.

“You heard right.”

He leans in to whisper, but still speaks so Jace can hear. “Camille broke my heart when she chose Jace. It could use some mending.”

I laugh and slap his shoulder. “You wish, Rexy.”

“Hey, I didn’t guard your cabin this afternoon for nothing,” he quips.

“You what?” I gasp.

“Oh yeah, that was Greyson’s compromise when we all had to leave.” Camille smiles.

I feel his eyes before I even turn my head. Greyson is stalking towards us, and he clearly isn’t happy.

Rex squeezes my thigh. “You might want to get up, Tilly. He’s a big motherfucker and I got a Tinder date tomorrow.”

I laugh again and stand just as Greyson approaches with a scowl on his face.

“Hey man. Killer season,” Rex greets.

“Shut up, Rex,” Greyson barks and Jace chuckles.

I give a dramatic display of innocence before blinking up at him. “Hey.”

His hand reaches out to curl around the small of my back. His heavy palm tugs me to him, causing my breath to hitch, but the moment is interrupted by my phone buzzing in my back pocket.
