“Are you two official now?” I tilt my head, wanting her to tell me otherwise, but I know differently.
They’ve been seen all around town. Dating and shit.
I hate the thought of him touching her.
But I turned this girl down more times than I can count, even when I’ve almost caved.
I’d ruin her.
And she’s better than that.
“Kinda.” Shelby licks her lips before looking back at me. “How’s Ivy?”
“She’s good,” I say with a frown. “You not heard from her?”
Shelby flushes and waves her hand in the air.
“Not really. I’ve been busy, you know? Plus, she’s working…”
I get it.
Now both girls are in relationships, they aren’t making time for each other.
“That’s a shame,” I say as Bentley honks his horn from outside. “What’s his fucking problem?”
Shelby hesitates, and it’s all I need.
“I’m gonna deal with him right now. You stay there.”
My ears ring as I stride forward, vaguely aware of Shelby running after me in her stupid heels.
Bentley watches me with a frown, swallowing while he tightens his grip on the steering wheel of his flashy as fuck car.
I make a sign to roll down his window and he does, glaring at me with the cocky arrogance he’s so fucking sure will serve him well with me.
Nuh-uh.
“What the fuck—”
I cut him off, placing both hands on the car door before glaring at him.
He doesn’t finish his sentence, and I don’t need to start one.
We stare at each other like two predators, yet he’s my prey.
He raises his eyebrows and looks at me pointedly, daring to scowl.
Thisfucker.
“Shelby and I were trying to have a conversation back there,” I grit out, wanting to smack his head on the steering wheel.
He’s got it coming anyway—I know he had it bad for my daughter and now he’s sticking it to Shelby?
The thought makes me almost delusional with rage.
“I don’t appreciate you honking your horn like a fucking bitch in heat. You need to show her more respect.”
