My heart skips a beat as she turns to give me that look. Her eyes sparkle, and her lips curve into a beautiful smile.

“Of course, it will! You’re my husband.”

“And you’re my wife.”

She leans over to kiss me, and you’d never know we’d been together for all these years. Laura always makes me feel like I’ve just met her.

“Unless you leave me for some hot young thing,” Laura teases, looking up at me.

I shake my head and pull her against me as her cheeks flush. The swell of her pregnant stomach sends liquid fire through my veins, and I can’t imagine ever loving anyone like this. Let alone being more attracted to some hot young thing.

She kisses me again and gives me a dreamy smile.

I reach down to stroke her face and stare into her eyes.
