“He loves you, Ellie.” I shrugged. “If he didn’t, he wouldn’t give a shit.”

“Too late for all of that now,” Ellie said bitterly as Raff rejoined the table.

“I’ve just pretty much promised to marry you.” He laughed, pulling Ellie to her feet. “So, if you don’t like me for any reason, say it now.”

Without thinking, I jumped up, walking over to Logan at the bar.

“It’s not good to drink alone,” I said.

Logan reached for another tumbler across the bar, sliding it down towards me.

“So join me then.”

Chapter Eleven

LOGAN

The alcohol was working, yet I couldn't drink enough of it. I downed the whiskey, wincing at the sour taste as it burned my throat. The pain felt good and distracted me from the situation with Raff and my sister.

I can't control Ellie, and I'm trying not to be a dick. She wasn't mylittlesister, but she was still my sister. I didn't want to listen to Raff describing what Ellie was like in the sack when I was around because I would knock him out.

"Look, I'm not gonna fuck her," Raff sighed, leaning on the counter beside me.

I glared at him, pouring another whiskey into my glass.

"I know you're fucking not."

"But I do really like her," he continued, his eyes on mine.

"She's mysister, Rafael. So if you're looking for my blessing, you aren't getting it."

I know I'm being stubborn, but I don't care.

"If it's not me, it's that prick she's shagging. You said yourself he's a punk." Raff shrugged, glaring at me. "She deserves better."

"Look," I drawled, refusing to meet his eyes. "If you fuck with my sister, and you hurt her, I will kill you. I'm trying not to ruin our friendship."

"I want to get to know her."

More whiskey. Not much left in this bottle.

Good thing I was in a bar.

"Do what you want. I've told you how I feel."

"Let's go back and chill with them. Jessica seems like a nice girl, maybe—"

"No," I cut him off. "I don't care if she's nice. I don't wantanyone. She's got a man, and I don't want any drama."

“Okay,” Raff said slowly, pushing off from the bar. "We good?"

I nodded as Razza watched me warily from the other end of the bar.

"It's not good to drink alone," a soft voice said from my elbow.

Jessica.

I slid a tumbler down to her, which she caught in her hand easily.
