I can even bypass her bond and feel the others, feel their love and feelings. It’s crazy and has truly bonded us as a pack so much more than what we used to be like.

Something in me settles, and I think for the very first time... that I’m grateful to be in a pride, that I don’t have the urges to run away just be on my own.

This is my place, by my mate’s side, and I can now look after everyone that is bonded to her.

It’s a powerful feeling.

“Orson, come sit,” Nora commands, and I take her hand, sliding into my place with them.

“How are you feeling, little warrior?” Malachi asks, and I look up at him with a smile. “What’s that look for?”

“It’s just amazing to feel the difference,” I say, and he grins at me, as he comes to sit next to me on the sofa. He’s wearing a soft grey jumper with a pair of black jeans, and he smells so fucking delicious. Before my heat, his scent was a combination of mint and patchouli, but now there’s a hint of cherries in him as well.

A hint of me.

“Yeah? What’s different about it?” he asks, trailing his finger up and down my arm, sending tingles through me.

“A lot,” I mutter, nudging him with my elbow and he laughs. “It helps.”

“It does?”

I nod. “I know exactly how you’re all feeling. It’s the closet I’ll ever get to reading your minds… and it’s really reassuring. It’s been less than one day, but I already feel more reassured about everything.”

“Good,” he says, kissing my temple. “We all love you so fucking much, and I’m glad you feel the same way.”

“Because you can sense it from me too?” I ask, and he nods. I move onto his lap as the others come join us, and Mal kisses the top of my head.

“More food,” Griffin says, passing me a bowl of brownie and ice cream and I moan.

“Oh, that sound still does things to me,” Cev mutters, coming to sit on the same sofa as Mal and I. Mal laughs at his words, and I would elbow him again, but I’m too interested in the chocolatey goodness in front of me.

Micah has a bowl too, and sits down with Voss on the two-seater, as Griffin sits on the floor in front of them. Orson claims the arm chair next to me, leaving the other arm chair free for Atticus.

“How are we all feeling?” Orson asks, looking around the room.

“Do you even need to ask anymore?” Micah says, with a wide grin. “It’s amazing. I can even feel you fuckers.”

“Really?” I ask, tilting my head.

“Can you not?” Micah asks.

“Of course she can,” Voss says, rolling his eyes. “Idiot.”

“Don’t be mean to him,” I say, before shovelling a spoonful of brownie in my mouth.

“To us, the bonds with the others aren’t there there,” Fin says. “You’re there, and if we look deeper into you, we can sense the others.”

“It’s not as strong as the bond we have with you,” Orson adds, and the others nod. “But I can definitely sense how each of us is feeling, how their needs are being met. It’s interesting.”

“And a tool we can definitely utilise,” Atticus says.

“How are you feeling?” Voss asks, raising an eyebrow at me.

“Sore,” I murmur, and they all laugh. “I’m a little nervous.”
