“About?” Atticus asks.

Based on his feelings—actually based on all of their feelings—they know exactly what I’m referring to.

“I… I was fertile during that heat.”

“Yes,” Atticus says.

“I think the plan has changed,” I say, pushing my bowl away. Mal hands it over to Griffin who immediately digs in.

“What do you mean?” Orson asks.

“Nora?” Mal prompts.

“If… if I’m pregnant… if it took…” I trail off, each of them looking at me with purposeful blank faces. “I don’t want an abortion.”

I’m preparing for them to be upset, to at least be surprised, but they react very, very differently.

Cheers sound around the room, claps and whoops, as they all high-five.

Malachi is the calmest of my mates and I think that’s just because I’m sitting with him.

“You’re all happy?” I ask, after sifting through the bonds. And you know, seeing them react this way.

“You were delirious over the last seventeen days,” Mal says, tickling my sides. “But we weren’t always. We knew that you were fertile.”

“That we were potentially going to conceive,” Orson says.

“Some of us tried really hard to make they happen,” Voss says, side-eyeing Cevon and Atticus. “The rest of us behaved.”

“Whose dick is the one that carries their mate bond?” Micah says, causing them all to roar with laughter.

“I still can’t believe you bit him there,” Mal murmurs and I laugh.

“Honestly I don’t remember a lot of my heat, but those moments I do remember, I’m fully blaming on my wolf.”

“Of course you are,” Griffin teases.

“So… baby?” Cevon asks, and I hear the hopeful lilt to his hoarse tone of voice.

“Maybe,” I say, glancing around the room.

“Are you doubting my sperm?” Cevon demands. The hopeful lilt has disappeared, and instead he’s purely offended. It’s quite funny.

“And mine?” Atticus asks. “I’m an Alpha.”

“We know,” Mal mutters. He presses his lips to my ear, and murmurs, “My sperm for sure beat there’s out.”

“You tended to prefer to swallow mine,” Voss says, causing me to both blush and laugh. “So if I’m the daddy, then I’ve definitely got super sperm.”

“I’m sure you do,” I say, rolling my eyes. “But we still don’t even know if there is a baby.”

“Will you be upset if not?” Micah asks gently.

“Um, no.”

Yes. I really will be. I’ve kind of gotten excited now, and my wolf and I are on the same page. We’re ready for this next step.

“Liar,” Atticus says.
