“I took you so you didn’t die,” he says, sounding a little confused.
“Oh, how generous,” I reply with a glare. “But you left my mate to die?”
“Is he really your mate if the bond isn’t completed?” Cevon asks.
I let out a whine because my wolf and I have different opinions on the topic. She’s in the camp that agrees with Cevon. She believes that we need to complete our bonds, so that we can be true mates.
I am in the camp that says we are mates regardless of whether our bond is finalised or not. We are mates whether his cum drips down my thighs or not.
“Why did you lie about him being dead?”
Cevon shrugs. “It was amusing. Now, what were you and your mate doing?”
“Why do you want to know?” I demand.
“Why were you going to that pack?”
“It’s my brother’s mating ceremony tomorrow,” I say, not bothered about lying about that. There’s no need.
“I see,” Cevon says, and his jaw tenses like he’s made a plan for something. “Can you go back to the room you were in?”
“Why?” I demand, a hesitance filling me. “Why are you locking me in there?”
“Just whilst I get things sorted,” he says.
“What’s your plan with me here?”
And that’s kind of when he freezes, and he looks around before slowly shrugging.
“I don’t know.”
He doesn’t know? How can he not know?
“What do you mean you don’t know?”
He sighs. “You have two choices. I can drug you again and dump you in that room myself, or you can walk your skinny legs back along the corridor and wait there like a good little girl.”
I don’t move, calling his bluff.
He shrugs, grabs something from his desk drawer, and advances towards me.
I shriek and turn and run back to the room. My heart is pounding, and I slam the door behind me.
