“They all lie.” Jake laughs out. “Women, it’s just what they do. You can’t trust them. They will say whatever they want to when you don’t want them, especially when you have money. I dropped her, and she got her feelings hurt. End. Of. Story.” Ash laughs loudly.
“Holy fuck,” he doubles over laughing, but when I glance up to Khan, we both know that it isn’t his amused laugh. It is like the sinister laugh he gave me as he charged me. “I’ll give it to you.” He points to him and steps up. “You have pulled one hell of a generic story together. Copy and paste a fucking name, huh?” Jake just smirks up to him and I know Ash well enough to know that within a matter of minutes he’s going to fucking swing on him. Looking up at him, I just carefully shake my head, telling him not to.
I hand over the gun to Khan, nodding over at Jake, telling him what he should do. This whole being in charge thing is fucking weird. He holds out his arm and almost touches Jake’s head with the barrel of the gun, just for dramatics, cocks the hammer on the gun and watches as Jake tenses up. Ash laughs harder, but this time it’s a genuine laugh as he’s excited about what’s going to happen.
I step around him and squat down, carefully, before I laugh out. “What? Do you not like to have a gun pressed into your head while you can’t move?” Laughing out once more. “I mean, are you ready for what we came up with for payback?” I laugh out and watch his eyes widen.
“What?”
“Well, I’m a firm believer in an eye for an eye.” His eyes nearly bulge out of his head when I say that, and then I can see the panic rising in his eyes. Ash laughs out behind me.
“What? No, fuck. I did nothing.” He’s shouting, trying to pull his arms free.
“I’m not sure if you really believe that or not, but I’m almost positive that even in your fucking spoiled, silver-spoon life, if you’re holding someone at gunpoint against their will. You’re doing something.”
“She wanted it, I fucking swear. She liked it.” He tells me, trying to convince him, but I know her better than that. I just shake my head. Granted, I am well-aware that she did actually like those types of consensual things when they are agreed upon beforehand.
Moving into him, still crouched down, it is harder to move than I wish it would be in this position. “Jakey, Jakey, Jakey, I know the truth, and so do you.” Dropping my voice, so that the recorder that Oz placed on the table can’t pick me up, I look at him again. “See, every one of us here would easily die for her. That means that we would also kill for her.”
Swinging his leg out, striking my leg, trying to knock me over, but he winces. “Fucking, shit, why does your leg feel like solid fucking steel.”
I laugh out, pulling my pant leg up, “Nah, carbon fiber, Aluminum, but mostly titanium along with a few other things.” I shrug, letting my pant leg fall back down, resting my arms on my knees. “You know what’s more dangerous than a man who’s lost everything?” He doesn’t answer me, so I answer for him instead. “A man who has been through hell and walked out the other side. I’ve been to hell. I know what it feels like to die. So you can threaten to ruin me, but I was ruined a long time ago. You can threaten to press charges, but prison pales compared to my own goddamn nightmares.”
“You’re out of your fucking mind.” He snaps out at me, causing me to laugh.
“I am.”
“What?” He laughs out. “Cause I got your girl—” laughing, I roll my eyes.
“Get the fuck out of here.” I laugh again, “Even the night she left with you, she wanted to leave with me.” I can see the rage in his eyes forming. “Tell me, was it your coke that I caught her trying to do in the bathroom? Before I rinsed it down the drain, that is?”
“You’re full of shit.” He snaps out.
“Am I? So when she got out to the car, she wasn’t exceptionally quiet. She didn’t have tears in her eyes. Because I know while we were arguing in the bathroom, she did.” When he lunges at me, even knowing that his hands are still cuffed around his back, he’s snatched back against the pillar.
“You know, I took her back, and I fucked her. Is that what it is?” He laughs, “You just pissed off that I ruined your precious littlebabydollfor you.” My fist flies to his face and when I hit him. A low thump sounds as the back of his head ricochets against the pillar he’s tied to.
Standing up, I look at Oz and nod to him. “You got it from here? I can’t, I’ll fucking rip his limbs off his goddamn body.” I tell him and I walk over to the chair, sitting down.
“You put your hands on my daughter.” Oz shouts at him. “Motherfucker, I’ve gone to prison for someone doing much less.” Looking back at me, I toss him the pocket knife before he opens it and then picking up the torch and tossing it to him as well. “Stand up,” Oz shouts at him and Jake looks like he’s going to shit himself before he attempts the stand. Khan reaches down, helping him, without taking the gun off of him. Reaching over, Oz cuts his shirt off and I laugh.
“What is he going to do?” Ash asks me.
“We’re all going to.” I look back over at him and he nods. He isn’t really sure what’s about to happen, but he’s aware now of what happened and he doesn’t give a fuck what it is. He’s on board.
Oz and I were going to split it, but when they came along… Well, he deserves the most. Oz holds the blade over the open flame and I can see Ash’s eyes widen before a smirk comes on his face.
“Fuck yes,” he mumbles beside me and I have to hold in my laugh. “Man, Fury talked about this a while back and since I kind of have wanted to.”
I watch as he runs the blade down Jake’s chest, and I can’t help to smirk at first...
I have to shake my head to keep the images from playing in my head. The smells in the air are bringing them to the forefront. But I want to, no I need to stay in this moment.
R- Jake is screaming out. He’s pleading with Oz to stop. Oz then put the blade back into the flame. A- His words become elongated, which tells me he will not last much longer. Heating the blade back up. P- His eyes roll into the back of his head. Oz hands the knife over to Khan, who can finally take the gun off of him as he holds the blade back over the flame. Once it’s glowing, I watch Khan press the ‘I’ into his chest. Then the blade is outstretched to Ash. He laughs out as he takes it, placing the blade back into the flame and watches it until it glows again. The S is a pain, but he gets it done. Then he hands it over to me. Hesitating, placing the blade back into the flame. T… that’s all that’s left.
I don’t want it to be like this. This is too easy for him. Picking the smelling salts out of my pocket, I break it, holding it underneath his nose, and his eyes flutter open. I can see the agony on his face. Picking up the blade again, I slip the first line through his skin as I make eye contact with him.
“Look at me, motherfucker. You every put your hands on anyone ever the fuck again. We won’t go this easy on you.” Lifting the blade, letting it heat again, I push the second line into his flesh. He’s still staring at me. Gripping him by the head, I slam it back against the pillar and his eyes close again.
