“This girl…” I shook my head. “You always got an answer for every damn thing.”
“And do.” She smirked.
“Aight,” I said, finally letting her go. “I'm finna go take a shower.”
“You better.”
I leaned down, stole another kiss, then pointed at her.
“But don't act like you don't love me.”
She rolled her eyes.
“I love you. I don't love how you smell.”
“Same difference.”
Still laughing, I headed toward our bedroom and disappeared into the bathroom. I turned and headed toward our bedroom. A few seconds later, I disappeared into the bathroom to wash the smell of the gym off me.
After I got out the shower, I dried off, threw on a pair of black joggers, and headed back toward the living room. I ain't bother putting on a shirt.
The second I stepped out the bathroom, I spotted Sianni stretched out on the couch right where I'd left her. One hand rested over her stomach while her head leaned back against the cushion. Her eyes were closed, like shopping had worn her clean out.
A grin pulled at my mouth.
Damn… that was really my wife carrying my baby.
I still couldn't believe that shit. Me… a father.
Hell, I spent most of my life looking out for myself. Now, I had a whole family depending on me, and I ain't gon’ lie, that thought hit different every time I looked at her. Out of all the women God could've put in my path, He gave me Sianni. A woman who loved me through my bullshit, stood beside me when I wasn't easy to deal with, and somehow still found a way to make me want to be better.
I rubbed a hand over my beard before making my way over to the couch.
“You feel better?” she asked, opening her eyes when she heard me coming.
“Yeah.”
I dropped beside her, letting my leg brush against hers before looking her over.
“You good?”
She nodded.
“Just tired.”
“I bet.” I smirked. “Looks like the mall got the best of yo’ ass.”
A tired laugh slipped out.
“It kinda did.”
“I can tell.”
I slid my hand across her shoulder, rubbing slow circles with my thumb. She leaned into me without even thinking about it, and I couldn't help but smile.
“And I told you I had to get everything before the trip.”
“I know.”
