I just shook my head. There was no point in arguing with her. Once Sianni got something in her mind, she was just as damn hardheaded as I was.
For a minute, we just sat there, enjoying the peace and quiet. My eyes drifted back down to the hand resting over her stomach, and that feeling hit me all over again.
Shit… We was really finna have a baby. A smile tugged at my mouth.
“You know…” I rubbed slow circles across her stomach before looking back up at her. “I still can't believe there's a lil' Maddox in there.”
She smiled, laying her hand over mine.
“I know.”
“Nawl.” I chuckled. “You don't.”
She laughed.
“Why you keep saying that?”
“’Cause I don't think it's hit you yet either.”
“It has.”
“Has it?”
She nodded.
“I've been thinking about it all day.”
“Me too.”
My eyes stayed on hers for a second before drifting back down to her stomach.
“I ain't gon’ lie, I'm scared as hell.”
Her brows pulled together.
“You?”
“Yeah.”
“I would've never guessed.”
“I know.”
I let out a low laugh and shook my head.
“I've been through a lot of shit in my life, but this…” I looked back at her. “This different.”
She squeezed my hand.
“We gon’ figure it out together.”
“I know we is.”
Silence settled between us again. I couldn't stop looking at her. Every time I tried, my eyes found their way right back.
“What?” she asked with a smile.
“You beautiful.”
