Half-siren. Yes. Sinister too.
Marc jerked back with a scowl.
“Don’t even think about it,” she hissed and smacked his shoulder. Immediately, her hand went numb, but it didn’t hurt.
“I altered the shield after the first time you hurt yourself,” Marc said, clearing her confusion.
“You what? Why?”
“I didn’t want you to hurt yourself,” he replied, looking mutinous. “And now you are my bonded, so can’t say I regret the decision. About Sinister—”
“No. Nope! Never. He’s like a very overprotective big brother. He figured it out during the—”
Marc sealed his lips over hers and kissed her breath away. Then he moved over to her neck and drove her to distraction with his nips and licks. The word that kept echoing in their connection was mine.
“Yes,” Wave moaned. “Yours.”
“My beautiful bonded.”
He kept her occupied until they reached the Powerhouse. Wave hadn’t even thought about who was driving, but Zahir gave them a small salute when he opened the door.
Wave looked over at him, worried. “Did you eat?” she asked while climbing out of the car.
“That’s the first thing you have to say?” Marc asked while climbing out after her.
“Well, Sinister said—”
“Yes, I did,” Zahir hurried to assure her, looking a bit sheepish. “Thanks for the snack,” he added quietly.
“Anytime,” Wave replied and glanced over her shoulder with a mischievous smirk. “In fact, if you stay in, I think you’ll get stuffed soon. I think I’m owed some bonded orgasms.”
“Oh, baby, I’ll make sure you are satisfied.”
Zahir cleared his throat and Wave looked up, already smiling, when Jarred walked out the door.
“Are you coming in or—” His speech faltered when he took in Marc and the way he hovered over her. There was a light shimmering shield covering every inch of her, had been from the moment she woke up. Maybe while she slept, too. Wave smiled wider. She just couldn’t help it. “Irishen!” Jarred bellowed.
Marc stepped closer and started herding her inside. Wave allowed it to happen while she waited for her mate to appear next to her Claimed. He did by the time they were at the bottom of the stairs. Irishen took one look at Wave and gave the fakest groan.
“Not the mage. Is he even house trained?” Then his eyes narrowed on Wave. She felt their bond caress her once and then he glared at Marc. “Why is she feeling so needy? Can’t you take care of your bonded properly?”
“That’s my cue.” Zahir chuckled and slipped past them into the house.
The shimmering shield around Wave evaporated, only to be replaced by a thick dome that encompassed all of them.
“Let’s take this indoors,” Jarred murmured. “I’m sure Marc had a good reason to leave Wave wanting.”
“She needed the rest,” Marc growled. “And I sure as fuck wasn’t going to take her in the back seat of a car for the first time.”
Jarred lifted a brow at Wave and she shrugged, unbothered. “I got a little emotional and almost crashed the plane. Afterward, I fell asleep.”
“Well, at least you look well-rested,” Irishen muttered, still side-eyeing Marc. “I still don’t like—”
“Then I guess you can stay and watch to make sure I do a proper job of it,” Marc huffed back. With one sentence, he managed to turn Wave on enough that she moaned softly.
“Get a room,” Sinister hollered somewhere from the house.
“That’s the plan,” Jarred shouted back, while moving to the stairs. All three males were so close that she only needed to breathe in a bit deeper and she would bump into one of them.
