“I think, we maybe ran into this too soon.” I finally said.

His handsome face looked at mine for a moment before just nodding.

“Yeah. I think I want to see other people.”

My eyes narrowed as my mouth gaped open like a fish.

How did we go from moving too soon to seeing other people?

“Uhh-um-”

“What?”

I breathed out slowly to control myself.

“You’re wanting to see other people?”

He straight up nods.

Wow.

What a turn of events.

That was not what I was going to say, but it seems like he already knew what he wanted.

“Um…okay then.”

What else was I supposed to say to that?

I turned my head to look at the TV as I tried to gather my bearings.

“Okay. Well, I think for now, I’m going to head back to my parents and then maybe we can talk about this in the future?”

In the future?

What the hell was he talking about?

I snapped my head back to him.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, I’m going to drive back to my state for the summer and then we can talk about it again if you want.”

“Like a break?”

He grinned.

“Exactly. Just a break.”

“Listen, we’ve been together for a while now. Let’s not make any rash decisions and just take the summer.”
