I put my phone in the workers hand, I knew the drill now.
I stepped inside.
The door slammed behind us.
Darkness swallowed everything.
“Oh, fuck.”
I laughed, reaching blindly until my hand found his arm.
“Scared?”
“Shut up.” he says.
A light flickered overhead.
We were standing in what looked like an old kitchen. Rusted pans hung from the ceiling. Bloody hand prints covered the cabinets. Something that looked disturbingly like a human sat beneath a stained sheet on the table.
I stared at it.
“That’s moving.” I say.
“No, it’s not.”
“It literally just moved.”
The sheet flew off.
I screamed.
My friend grabbed me as a woman launched herself off the table, shrieking in our faces.
We stumbled to the open door off the kitchen laughing, my heart pounding.
“Okay.” I gasped. “That one got me.”
“Got you? You almost climbed inside my shirt.”
“Don’t get too excited.”
“Too late.”
I shoved him.
“Well, this has certainly made you more chatty.” he says while grinning.
I grin as he grins.
Then something moved behind him.
My smile disappeared.
At the end of the hallway stood a man.
Black clothes.
Masked face.
