“I guess I shouldn’t apologize for coming all over your hand.”
“You shouldn’t,” I confirmed.
“Shit, that was hot.” Red-faced and panting, Ryan collapsed onto the pillows. “Are you alright? That was a lot.”
“It was but I’m okay. You?”
He nodded, still fighting to catch his breath. “I’m great, but I should get in the shower before the image of you jacking off with my come gets me hot again.”
Ryan rose from the bed, walking into the bathroom on wobbly legs. I felt an odd sense of pride. I’d been the one to do that to him. With the heat of the moment gone—literally—the chill from the AC settled into my bones. I searched the room for my pajamas, but turned around when I sensed that I was being watched.
Ryan stood there, nervously picking at a spot on the doorframe.
“Can I ask something of you?”
I dropped the t-shirt in my hand. “Anything.”
Ryan looked at his feet. “Would you wash my hair for me again? Minus the blood and the concussion. I… I really enjoyed it
An involuntary smile curled my lips. He was cute when he was nervous. “Of course I wouldn’t mind.”
With a grin, Ryan disappeared into the bathroom and turned the shower on, which was my cue to follow right behind.
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
I was the most content that I’d ever been. Sated, Ryan drifted off in my arms after our shower. We’d opened the balcony door, listening to the sounds of the ocean waves crashing against the sand. Though sleep would have come easily to me, I fought it for a while. I was determined to soak up every minute of this feeling. His skin on mine, his hand resting over my heart. He slept soundly, hardly stirring at all in the hours I’d been watching him. Even though his golden-brown eyes had become one of my favorite pictures, there was something about the way his dark lashes swept over freckled cheekbones that I wanted etched into my memory.
“Ryan Walker, what have you done to me…” I whispered into the darkness.
I never thought it was possible to fall for someone so quickly. And for that someone to be a man? Well, I was surprised that even Ryan couldn’t hear my inner turmoil. As much as I didn’t want them to, I knew things were about to change drastically for me. So as my eyelids grew heavy and threatened to shut, I leaned forward to press a tender kiss to Ryan’s forehead. I made a silent vow that no matter what, that weekend we spent together would always hold a special place in my heart.
Soft lips on my cheek awoke me the next morning. I hummed and eased into the kiss. Satisfied with the reaction he got, he did it again.
“Buenos días, mi cielo,” Ryan whispered, lips tickling my jaw.
“Mm, I have no idea what you said, but please feel free to keep saying it. It’s nice that your voice was the first thing I heard today.”
With the last kiss, I turned my head to catch his lips with mine.
“It means ‘my sky,’” he said, breaking away for air. “You could kill someone with those baby blues of yours.”
“Maybe they can convince you to come with me to do something on our way home.”
Ryan bustled around the room, picking up and organizing our scattered clothing.
“You don’t need to convince me to spend more time with you, amor.”
I caught the pair of briefs, jeans, and t-shirt he tossed in my direction. “You might want to hear what it is before you decide that.”
“Try me.”
Standing up, I wiggled into my underwear. “My dad lives ten minutes away from here,” I told him, exhaling from a deep breath.
“Really? Why didn’t you say so? We could have seen him sooner.”
I chewed on my bottom lip, wondering if I had the courage to do what I wanted. “So… You wouldn’t mind being there when I came out?”
Ryan looked up from his bag. “Are you ready for that?”
