The last man—number three, the coward—turns and bolts out of the garage.
When I turn, shoulders heaving, Leo is white-faced and wheezing in the corner.
“Look, mate, we can talk,” he blubbers. “Like you said, businessman to business—”
He flinches when I grab his phone.
“Where else are these pictures.”
He trembles.
“Where the fuck else?!”
Leo swallows, his face going ashen.
“Nowhere!” He wheezes. “Nowhere else, I swear!”
“Cloud drives? Other computers?”
He chokes as I grab him by the collar, yanking him close as I snarl into his face.
“If you lie to me, Iwillfind out. And when I do, I swear to God, I will cut you in fucking half.”
He gurgles. I glance down, watching the urine flood out from the hem of his pants over his shoes.
“Nowhere else!” he mumbles. “I swear to God. Just the phone!”
I drop him into the puddle of his piss as I pocket the phone. I pull out one of Lewis’s business cards and drop it on top of him.
“I believe in squaring business, even with shit-stains like yourself,” I hiss. “And I hate loose ends. So, you will email this man and give him your banking information. He will wire the original loan, without the gouging interest, to your account. After that, you aredonewith the loan business. And Ella’s debt is settled. Is that crystal fucking clear?”
He nods vigorously, sobbing.
“Of course! Of course! We’re all settled up, mate!”
I smile thinly as I stand there, looming above him.
“She’ll be told that your business with her is concluded. If you ever go near her. If you so much as think of her—”
“You have my word!” he blubbers. “Swear to Christ!”
My jaw sets. My hands curl to fists, as I inhale one more hit of violence and savagery.
Leo’s eyes dart across my face nervously.
“I—are we done? What…” he swallows. “What happens now?”
My lips curl.
“Now, Leo,” I growl. “I’m going to beat the unholy fuck out of you. Andthen, we will be done.”
I was right.
I do enjoy it.
They all live.I check. Outside, Liam is leaning against his car, smoking quietly as he eyes me.
“All good?”
