She quickly realized she stood in his bedroom; the lingering scent of his cologne in the air around her confirmed it. Her gaze immediately turned toward the bed… where he slept.

“No,” she said silently in her head. She didn’t want to be there. It was too intimate. Too overwhelming and her senses couldn’t take it anymore. Her pride lay in tatters at his feet and her ass was bruised and would remain so for days to come.

She closed her eyes and forced herself to remain calm. Maybe she could still reason with him.

“Look. This isn’t going to work. You don’t like me; much less can you seem to tolerate me, or you wouldn’t have taken me over your knee like I was some wayward child. And I don’t like you for the very reason that you spanked me,” she cried incredulously, then added, “Among a plethora of other reasons too.”

She shook out her arms when every part of her called her a liar. The raid he had issued on her backside with the palm of his hand had done things to her beyond just smarting her flesh. Things she wasn’t ready to delve into because she didn’t have the experience to understand them.

“You…you’re a bully and you’re mean.” Tears started to drip down her face and she wished she could wish them away. “And this isn’t a marriage. I’m serious. I want a divorce—”

She swallowed her words as he charged toward her. Her heart missed a beat as he pressed her into the wall at her back.

His muscle-bound thigh slipped between her legs, forcing her to part her own thighs for him.

“You’re mine now,” he said softly, his fingers slipping under her skirt.
