“Oh.” I must not be invited anymore after I caused a bit of a commotion last time. “Why are we here, Ales?”
“When I told you I only did as you desired in your dreams, I didn’t lie. But once I found you, I controlled the connection to draw us somewhere I wanted to take you.”
“Eir?”
“I thought you would like it here. When you asked today what I wanted, I did not know how to explain it to you. I brought you to Eir because I wanted you to see this world. And now, I find myself wanting other things too.”
The Valkyrie and Charlie had shaped him, nudging him to this. Just by sharing my dreams, showing him my world, my desires, he was different from the warrior he was with Kara. He now wanted more. What if he started wanting things he couldn’t have, like Charlie? I couldn’t disappoint him too.
“Ales… I think I might have accidentally done some things we should talk about.”
“No more talking. Dance with me, Charlie?”
“Huh?”
“I want to dance with you while the Valkyrie wields the water using my strength. If you’re connected to me, if I’m in your mind, I can feed your aether, giving you all of the pleasure. You could use the pleasure to meld the Valkyrie and the mortal into one.”
“Let me guess… this is Cri’s idea.”
“Not Cri’s…”
“But not yours?”
Ales looked at the ground, taking a step back.
“Ales, whose idea is this?”
“Mine… and Cri… and Logan.”
Oh, this is my hell.
I couldn’t imagine them sitting around talking about how to save Charlie without one of them killing the other.
“You talked to Logan… about me? About doing this with me?”
Had he asked Logan how I liked to be touched or kissed, or how to make me moan with his lips?
“The dancing was his idea.”
Logan went behind my back to Ales.
“Do you know how to dance? I mean, you said your people don’t dance, Ales.”
“Cri helped with that a little.”
“Uh… okay. I’m really trying not to laugh at Cri giving you dancing tips. Please tell me there were diagrams.”
I reached up to circle my arms around Ales’ neck, but he shook his head.
“Not here… over there.”
Ales glanced over to the bubbling spring.
“In the water?”
I remember the way I’d kissed him when I swam through the fizzing waters in my dream. The water had been warm, and he had been very naked…
The light inside me sparked and the aether began flowing from my fingertips. Instead of reaching for Ales, I concentrated on the water. The Valkyrie poured the light onto the surface, creating a shield of glowing aether, so we could dance on the water.
